Nuts, The Soup  has  ended . Joel McHale finished the show's run last night with a cameo-packed show, featuring all sorts of guest stars and Community references. But for his lack trick, McHale went sincere, or at least as since as you can get when you're Joel McHale. Pulling one more clip from the archives, McHale took the time to thank his cast and crew and reflect on the transient nature of fame, before promising that writers next day would dub the show "gone, but not forgotten." E! Cancels Joel McHales The Soup

Joel McHale is ending his run on the E! clip show The Soup, TheWrap has learned. McHale has hosted and produced the show for the past 12 years, while also appearing in films like Spider Man 2 and Ted. He also starred onCommunity for NBC, before the show was picked up by Yahoo for one season. Greg Kinnear was the original host of the show when it launched as Talk Soup in 1991. Hal Sparks and Aisha Tyler also both briefly hosted the show before McHale took over in 2004. His last episode will be on Dec. 18.   Read More... //

It's The End For ‘The Soup’ Says E! -

E! announced this morning its weekly series skewering pop culture would bow out on December 18, ending the franchise’s 22-year run. The show premiered in ’91 as Talk Soup and launched the career of original host Greg Kinnear , who hosted until ’95. He was followed by John Henson (995–1999), Hal Sparks (1999–2000) and Aisha Tyler (2001–2002). It was re-Launched as The Soup in 2004 with current host Joel McHale . The Soup  is out there: Joel McHale is the first guest star announced for Fox’s upcoming  X-Files   series, our sister site  Deadline  reports. The  Community  star and  Soup  host will play a conservative Internet news anchor who becomes an unlikely support for Mulder.
