The Spoils of Babylon

"The Spoils of Babylon" brought its absurdly hilarious send-up of a melodrama to an end on Thursday (Feb. 6). As creator Eric Jonrosh (Will Ferrell) intros, "Here it is. The great opera of two lives lived in fear of their desire comes to a close."In the epic finale, Devon (Tobey Maguire) and Cynthia (Kristen Wiig) reunite for a picnic on the beach where they each have their own Big Carl wine glass and profess their love for one another. Cynthia tries to tell Devon that Winston (Haley Joel Osment) is his, but she cannot and instead they make passionate love in the sand.Little do they know that at that very moment, Winston runs Marianne (Jelly Howie) down with his car and kills her. Devon comes to kill Winston and finally learns the truth about Winston's paternity.
