The Walking Dead Recap 12/3/17: Season 8 Episode 7 “Time for After”

The Walking Dead begins tonight with the container suddenly being opened that Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) was being held in, when he sees Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) he tells her that the offer still stands and it isn’t too late for her to join them, or her and her group can die. She takes several pictures of Rick in only his boxers and tied up. She tells him the photos are to sculpt him for after; but doesn’t explain any further as they re-lock the doors. Eugene (Josh McDermitt) paces his room, then settles and begins to make a list of "What I know", "What I don’t know" and "Things I am unaware of wholly." He tosses the book on his bed and goes to see Dwight (Austin Amelio) informing him that he knows he is the traitor and that Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) has ordered him to find out who the traitor is, insisting that Dwight stop what he is doing immediately and in exchange he offers to remain silent. The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 8 Review: How It's Gotta Be

No matter how many times the word "shocking" was mentioned going into this episode, nothing could have prepared me for what transpired during its closing moments. On The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 8 , the Saviors escaped the Sanctuary and -- as expected -- made a beeline straight for Alexandria and the Kingdom. As far as midseason finale's go, "How It's Gotta Be" did a decent job of keeping us on our toes for 90 minutes, with wondering which character would bite the bullet. Some elements within the episode worked -- others not so much. But in the end, it was without a doubt an intense and incredibly shocking way to close out the first half of The Walking Dead Season 8 .   ...Read More...   https://www.tvfanatic.com/2017/12/the-walking-dead-season-8-episode-8-review-how-its-gotta-be/

The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 7 Review: Time for After

I could go for some of Eugene's giggle juice right about now. On The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 7 , the situation at the Sanctuary becameeven direr as tempers flared, threats were made, and panic spreadamongst the Saviors. After the scattered mess that was The Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 6 , "Time for After" put more focustowarda smaller variety of characters. It allowed more time for their stories to build and play out more naturally without feeling rushed. As a result, the episode was all the better for it.   ...Read More...   https://www.tvfanatic.com/2017/12/the-walking-dead-season-8-episode-7-review-time-for-after/

Walking Dead Recap: Low and Beholden

Wait, wait, wait, wait things cannot be as they seem, right? Could the outcome of The Walking Deads Saviors/Scavengers-vs.-Everybody Else War really rest in the trembling hands of Eugene Porter, arguably the only character in the series history who even comes close to Gregory for sheer weaselliness? It sure seemed that way by the end [] http://tvline.com/2017/12/03/the-walking-dead-season-8-episode-7-recap-time-for-after/

The Walking Dead: "The Big Scary U" Review

Given how long The Walking Dead has been running, and the "one long movie/battle" aspect of the Season 8 episodes so far, it's easy to feel like things are in a rut. When things feel stagnant, when there's a "sameness" from week to week, one looks for something, anything, out of the ordinary to spike the story. This week, in "The Big Scary U," we got that, though it still didn't save the chapter from focusing way too much, and giving way too much screen time, to characters we don't know or care about. Gregory, Simon, Regina, any of the strife in the Sanctuary - it was all more or less a placeholder. Sure, Dwight could get caught being the mole for Rick's team, but do we necessarily care about that after he shot Denise in the eye with crossbow bolt? Or do we care if Eugene accidentally takes the fall for Dwight because he's everyone's easy pick for the person undermining Negan's plans? We really didn't need this intense of a peek inside the Sanctuary right now - even if it was trying to graciously show us the other side of the conflict (along with the actual meeting that was happening when Rick rolled up with his "hillbilly armor"). Rick is walking down the road and retrieves two messages from a box. Meanwhile, Carol is cleaning her gun when she receives two messages, Maggie also receives messages – Rick says everything is going according to plan even though they’ve all lost some loved ones. The messages are all from each other, updating on what has been going on. Rick says, that by the time it was over, there were no Saviours left standing. Maggie says, Jesus took prisoners and took them back home, until they decide what to do with them. Rick admits it is scarier than what he thought it would be but the plan is still a go – the sanctuary is surrounded and cut off from their supplies, every hour that goes by makes them weaker – everyone is to meet up in 2 days. We see Jadis in the junkyard and her people, there is a huge container and someone is banging on the inside. Jesus is giving the prisoners water and food when Maggie sees him and is upset that he is giving away their supplies. Gregory tells Maggie that they should just kill all the prisoners. Maggie stands off and walks away. READ MORE...
