With the children being used for something sinister, I watch this show with a great sense of foreboding. The children are all great at creeping me out when they speak to their imaginary friend, and I like that so far I can't predict EXACTLY where they are going, sure I have a few ideas, but I'm not set on any one so far. The mystery makes it great, so far so good!

I like this! Although the subject matter is way beyond the realm of normal life, they way the script is written, the actors and the directing makes it gripping and compelling. Within the space of the first episode many questions have been raised. A lot of different characters have made their appearance and strange links are beginning to appear between the different realms of what is possible in The Whispers. It is spooky without being OTT and the kids are amazing little actors! I'm not usually a big fan of dramas that utilise a lot of kids in the storyline, but this looks like it's going to work well. I can't wait until the next episode.

Although the beginning was a bit boring (I was going to untrack, in fact), the story seems to be picking up now and the last episode left me wondering what will happen next. Let's hope it's good and not disappointing!

It's been hard for me to get a handle on this one, partly because it uses some tropes which I like very much and some which I don't, and partly because it's based in the DC-Baltimore area.

I'm a sucker for the 'imaginary friend is real' schtick, it's always spooky fun. On the other hand, I have a ridiculously low tolerance for kids in danger. Since much of the show revolves around these conceits it's hard for me to get a handle on it. I'm also finding it hard to believe that the one child would 'keep playing' after the opening scenes.

Actually, that's the weakest part of the show. The children, who were chosen because of who their relatives are, all seem to be incredibly malleable and dedicated. None of them get bored with the game, even after they've gotten used to the 'magicy' aspects. None of them get balky or tired or scared, even after scary things happen. They follow complicated directions flawlessly... It's all great horror fodder, but it requires a lot of suspension of disbelief.

The show fails in the hard SF category as well, in all the usual ways. Without spoilers, if the aliens need what they seem to be going after, there are definitely sources of it closer to whatever planet they come from - almost by definition.

As far as the local interest stuff. The house in Bethesda really looks like many houses in Bethesda, so that's a plus. I'm not sure why the FBI agent from the Baltimore regional office would be assigned, since the national office is even closer.

I'm a bit surprised that a Bethesda resident would have a date related to the Colts as a password, but maybe he grew up in Baltimore. Yes, the cities are that close, but they're also that insular...

I'm really surprised this was cancelled after one season. It did take a while to pick up, but the last couple of episodes really opened a whole slew of things a second season could have covered. I want to know what happened to Claire and the kids. I want to know more about the aliens. So disappointed in shows getting cancelled before they really have a chance to take off. :(

This is a great show! Hopefully the cancellation rumors I hear are not true!

After a slow start, I really got into this. Am hoping for another series but doesn't seem to be any news yet. Do not like being left on a cliffhanger! :(

Fun show to watch. An alien enemy that you can't see or talk to when you are an adult is pretty creepy. Especially when that alien starts talking to your kid. For the kids it's like a game of 'Simon says'.

It's fast paced and interesting to watch!

So after watching three episodes I've decided to give this show up. The underlying plot idea might have been interesting, but the execution is quite poor. The dialogues sound as if they were taken from a bad to mediocre suspense novel, which gives everything in this show a constant taste of cliché. The introduced characters feel one dimensional and like they are created to very simple storytelling purposes, not like real people at all. Also, this was neither as suspenseful nor as spooky as I hoped it would be, how very disappointing :(
