X Factor Canceled! Simon Cowell and Season 3 Winners Alex & Sierra React

Last week ended with two heavy punches to the X Factor franchise. First, news that show mastermind and judge Simon Cowell would be departing the U.S. series for his homeland’s much more successful version of the series. Second, arriving just mere hours later, word that X Factor as an entire show was down for the count in the States. Fans of the show may be reeling from the cancellation news (well, at least the ones who weren’t aware of Season 3’s abysmal ratings), but how do the stars... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/03LQS4dzp3Q/2014-02-10-simon-cowell-alex-sierra-canceled

Simon Cowell Wants Ke$ha as an X Factor Judge — Report

The X Factor hasn’t even been renewed for a fourth season, but that hasn’t stopped some sources from saying who they think will make the judging panel next time on the Fox reality TV show. We’d already heard X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell had his hopes set on Miley Cyrus joining the family. Now it sounds as if Mr. Nasty wouldn’t mind if Ke$ha took a seat at the table, too. Whether this is in addition to Miley or to fill another as yet unannounced vacancy we’re not sure. “Simon thinks that... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/oV82DDF_ZEA/2014-01-21-simon-cowell-wants-kesha-judge

From 'X Factor' to 'American Idol': Jillian Jensen on her reality singing show journey

Yes, that was "X Factor" contestant Jillian Jensen you saw during the Season 13 premiere of "American Idol." But the Jillian you saw on "X Factor" and the one you'll see this year on "Idol" are two very different people. Just compare Jensen's tearful "X Factor" audition and her breezy, acoustic "Idol" audition and you have a very different singer -- the singer Jensen says she actually is, rather than the one with the bullying backstory they wanted her to be on "X Factor." "Doing 'X Factor' was a great experience, but unfortunately I don't feel like I was allowed to be myself as an artist," she tells Zap2it, although it did give her the platform to do some motivational speaking against bullying. Her decision to try out for "Idol" came from a longtime love of the show -- she used to watch it as a kid and tell her mom she was going to... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/from-x-factor-to-american-idol-jillian-jensen-on-her-reality-singing-show-journey.html

'The X Factor' Season 4 renewed or canceled? Decision coming within the month

"The X Factor" might have finally crowned its first commercially viable winner with Alex and Sierra taking the Season 3 grand prize, but there's still no decision on a potential Season 4 or Simon Cowell's involvement. If it does return, however, it will definitely look different from Seasons 1-3. FOX entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly told reporters at the 2014 Television Critics Association winter press tour that he has not decided whether he'll renew the show for a fourth season. "There is no decision," Reilly says. "The show under-performed this year, Simon himself would admit that. The ratings were not what we hoped." Reilly confirms what Cowell told Zap2it about changes in format, saying, "If the show were to come back, it would not be in the current format we have. ... We'll make that decision over the next month." Regardless of how the show looks, Cowell will still be involved. "He's never going to be... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2014/01/the-x-factor-season-4-renewed-or-canceled-decision-coming-by-february.html
