Bravo has just given a green light to new “Top Chef” spinoff under the working title, “Top Chef Extreme.” The series is set to premiere this summer. Congratulations, Judge! Top Chef’s tough critic, Gail Simmons, and husband Jeremy Abrams welcomed daughter Dahlia Rae to the world on Sunday, December 29. Gail’s rep confirmed to People that Dahlia weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and that “mother, father, and baby are doing wonderfully” a few days after the baby’s arrival. Bravo Now Renting 'Top Chef' Contestants as Caterers

Top Chef fans eager to eat a meal from one of the reality series' culinary competitors are in luck. The Bravo show, which already boasts a handsome catalog of branded tie-ins, has inked a new deal that extends the Top Chef name to home catering. The network has partnered with Kitchit, an online service that helps consumers book in-home dining, event catering and cooking lessons from reputable chefs. As a part of the deal with Bravo, Kitchit now will include more than 30 Top Chef alums to its roster of participating cooks in the markets it currently services: Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco.  Read More...   //

'Top Chef: New Orleans': Gail Simmons puts up with the heat for the gumbo

In late May, Bravo's "Top Chef" arrived in New Orleans to film its 11th season, premiering on Wednesday, Oct. 2, in a city famed for fun, food and fabulous music. Production wrapped in early July.But sitting as it does on the Gulf Coast in the Deep South of the U.S., the Big Easy is also known for warm weather -- and the "Top Chef" team could hardly have picked a toastier time of year.Says judge Gail Simmons, a cook and former food journalist,toZap2it, "It was incredibly hot outside. It was definitely taxing on our chefs that are cooking and on our production crew, shooting long hours and long days in 100-degree, 100 percent humidity weather.
