Loved the original and now I love the British version. Kenneth Branagh fits the role perfectly.

Episodes are too long for me to watch one after the other, but Gilderoy Lockheart rocks my socks!

Wallander is a detective and police inspector in Ystad, Sweden. He has great empathy for victims. His personal live can best be described as a wasteland. He has troubled relationships with his daughter and his father who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. His father is stuck in a loop. A famous painter, he spends his days painting the same scene day after day.

We see the interaction of the Ystad police department which is based on this impeccable mutual respect which is all very Scandinavian. Wallander starts making strange mistakes and decisions and acting differently and in the end he discovers what we have known, he has Alzheimer's disease.

Great performance of Kenneth Branagh, as usual, in a dark drama. A pleasure.

Too slow-paced but if you are into take time crime-solving series that have you yelling and cursing the actor then this is the one to watch.
