Review of Wayward Pines

60 minutes

Imagine the perfect American town... beautiful homes, manicured lawns, children playing safely in the streets. Now imagine never being able to leave. You have no communication with the outside world. You think you’re going insane. You must be in Wayward Pines. Based on the best-selling novel “Pines” by Blake Crouch, and brought to life as a 10-episode mini series by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan (“The Sixth Sense,” “Signs”), WAYWARD PINES is the intense new mind-bending event thriller evocative of the classic cult hit “Twin Peaks.”

It's one of those SF series that tries to be a lot of different things and fails at being one solid complete series. Even though I like the show and plan to continue watching the second season, I also can't believe this show got to see a second season. The main problem here is that the show suffers from the same problem Persons Unknown had, they have to kick it up a notch every season making the main plot essentially stupid. If not, they risk making it boring to watch.
It's a fun series and I advise people to watch it but I don't see this lasting passed season 2.
