Having recently discovered time travel, Dan a facilities manager at a small Massachusetts college, has been transporting himself back to the 1700s to spend time with the colonial woman for whom he's fallen. In the present, Dan is misunderstood by all, and anxious that life is passing him by. But in the 18th century, he's absolutely hilarious - he gets the girl and makes friends. But Dan's actions in the past are messing up the present. That woman he's dating is not just any woman. She's Paul Revere's daughter, Deborah, and Dan's meddling causes her father to delay his famous ride, which may have altered the outcome of the entire American Revolution. To set matters right, Dan enlists the help of Chris, a brilliant, polished and popular history professor at the college, who's now given the incredible opportunity to actually live the history he teaches.

This review is based on the pilot of "Making History" which aired 3/5/17 at 8:30 on FOX. Making History has roughly the premise as NBC's Timeless - that is in a nutshell, having fun with a time machine, screwing up history, wishing you'd left well enough alone, and then reluctantly trying to fix your mistakes. the difference being -- Making History is a virtually a parody of timeless, poking fun at history in a most amusing way. It arks the 4 year TV return of Leighton Meester (Surface, 24, Gossip Girl) who makes her comedy debut as a strong, intelligent woman from the 18th century who dreams of the equality her dorky boyfriend from the future (Adam Pally) tells her about. As someone who is hyper-critical of comedies, I was honestly surprised to like Making History - very pleasantly surprised I must admit. More often than I'd lke, modern comedies take a situational humor "sitcom" approach and Making History does not. Rather, the humor is what I would classify as random humor, most similar to shows like 30 Rock or Family Guy - taking things that are unexpected and absurd and rolling with them as if it were typical. It is a bit silly, but fresh and fun and I thoroughly enjoyed the pilot.

The liberal writers of this Fox TV comedy series about American history mock the second amendment. Two of the principle actors have compared Trump to Hitler.Never insult half your audience. Good bye.
