'Sons of Anarchy' Season 5 pictures: Jax at the head of the table

The fifth-season premiere of "Sons of Anarchy" will introduce SAMCRO's new adversary, but there's also a lot of unresolved tension within the club in the wake of last season's events.Season 5 picks up a couple weeks after Opie (Ryan Hurst) shot Clay (Ron Perlman) and set off a realignment of the power. Jax (Charlie Hunnam) is now the president -- you can see the patch on his vest -- but the old adage "uneasy lies the head that wears the crown" definitely applies here.The photos FX has released from the episode are mostly tight closeups of SAMCRO members sitting around the table, but there are also a couple shots of Harold Perrineau ("Lost") as Damon Pope, a well-dressed Oakland gangster who has it out for the club after Tig (Kim Coates) inadvertently killed Pope's daughter at the end of last season.Speaking of Tig, this shot suggests he's pretty aware of the turmoil surrounding the club.Clay,...

'Sons of Anarchy' cast rides for a good cause led by Theo Rossi and Kim Coates

Zap2it caught up with the cast of"Sons of Anarchy" at the Boot Campaign's Boot Ride and Rally Sunday (Aug. 26) -- a fundraising event in support of the Boot Campaign's charity work for returning American soldiers.The event consisted of an organized bike ride from Santa Clarita to Los Angeles led by Theo Rossi and Kim Coates, and was followed by a rally with the show's cast, loyal fans, and charity supporters.Ron Perlman explained that the Boot Campaign "builds awareness for our boys who go out and sacrifice everything for us. This is a phenomenal opportunity for us to show our gratitude." Perlman, who isn't exactly known for his motorcycle riding skills despite the character he portrays on the show, chose to join the Boot Ride on four wheels instead. FX is really helping fans gear up for Sons of Anarchy Season 5 . The network has released a number of promotional videos for the September 11 premiere, the most recent focusing on new characters portrayed by recurring guest stars Jimmy Smits and Harold Perrineau. New Sons of Anarchy Trailer: Familar Faces, New Roles

FX has released a new promo for Sons of Anarchy Season 5 . But while the first official trailer for this incredible drama mostly focused on the impending showdown between Jax and Clay , the latest teaser gives us a longer look at a few recurring characters. There's Jimmy Smits as Nero, the biker who will strike up an unexpected friendship with Jax. There's Harold Perrineau as Damon Pope, whose daughter Tig ran over to close out Sons of Anarchy Season 4 . There's also Drea de Matteo, who returns as Wendy and who will continue to cause problems for Jax and Tara when it comes to custody of her son. FX has released the first trailer for Sons of Anarchy Season 5 that depicts new footage from upcoming episode. The teaser highlights a showdown between the past and the present, as Jax asks an Oxygen-using Clay what is play is at this point. I have none , the ex-President counters, before asking his stepson what's on his agenda. 'Sons of Anarchy' Star Ron Perlman Tackles Role as Jewish Drug Smuggler in 'Kid Cannabis'

'Sons of Anarchy' star Ron Perlman has joined the cast of "Kid Cannabis," an indie film about a pair of Idaho teens smuggling weed from British Columbia into the United States, the actor told TheWrap. The film, which stars Kenny Wormald and Jonathan Daniel Brown, is based on real-life characters, as profiled in Rolling Stone. John Stockwell wrote the script and is directing. Perlman, who recently shot his scenes, plays an Israeli-American businessman with a clandestine criminal side.

Kurt Sutter Issues Sons of Anarchy Season Premiere Challenge

The Sons of Anarchy Season 5 challenge is on. Kurt Sutter has posted a new blog entry in which he tells fans of his show to tune in for the September 11 premiere . If the ratings for this opener exceed the first Season 4 episode by any percentage points at all, Sutter will randomly select four U.S. Twitter followers and fly them to Los Angeles to watch a subsequent episode with the Sons of Anarchy cast and crew. He'll also award four international followers with swag baskets.
