60 minutes

"The Glades" (previously titled "Sugarloaf") is a police procedural from Fox TV Studios starring Aussie actor Matt Passmore ("McLeod's Daughters"), Kiele Sanchez (Lost) and Carlos Gomez ("Sleeper Cell"). The story is about a charming Chicago homicide detective exiled to a small and not-so-idyllic Florida town.

I loved this show. I hate that they cancelled it in a crucial part. I would never find out if he died or if he survived and was able to marry the love of his life. It was also great to get a different kind of detective one that was very unorthodox.

Here is a show that claims to be crime drama yet while I watched it registered in my mind more like a comedy . Charismatic detective with a happy go lucky attitude that thinks being ingenious actually makes him prone to all procedural restrictions which applies to all enforcers. Excuse me but since when detectives can make arrests and keep suspects in custody for indefinitive periods of time when they dont have a shred of incriminating evidence but theories in mind? Not credible just slick...like an atmospherically delightful tv show with scarce chance of crime as 'royal pains'. Also not credible was the possibility of such a slick detective falling for the self-rightous lame nurse....really ?

The Glades is a crime drama following a cop in Florida. The cases are interesting and the characters form a bond that keep you watching. Matt Passmore plays a charismatic cop with unorthodox methods and crime solving techniques. The overall show is captivating and brings a different aspect to a cop show. I recommend this show to crime drama buffs.

Great, I loved this except for the worst cliffhanger ending to the series that I have ever seen.

Not a psychological thriller! The setting is appealing. Full of beautiful people. It doesn't take itself seriously. And sometimes that's just what you need. I'm enjoying it for change of pace.

As the show progresses we see the development of professional and personal relationships. They are believable and fairly well done. Shame the show was cancelled.

Finished watching all the episodes. Guess they didn't know it would be cancelled when they wrote the last episode. What a horrible ending. I'm pretty sure it would have been different had they known it would be the end.

The Glades is a crime procedural to end all procedurals, with its witty banter and unorthodox reveals that remind us of Psych's. Jim Longworth is certainly a charming detective, but the town of Palm Glades is by no means idyllic.

Prepare for 4 seasons of fun, drama and cliff hangers. And especially watch out for the latter, as the series unfortunately ends as abruptly as it begins.
