This show is truly one of the best shows ever. In terms of senseless violence and gratuitous sex, it doesn't get any better!

It is good. I imagine if you are from the north east its more enjoyable. It is also going to be hard to live up to the hype if you haven't seen it yet. Mostly it is nostalgia TV with some pretty well developed characters.

A riveting and compelling drama that is highly recommended for all. The Sopranos blends two emerging issues of the times, the fall of organized crime and the rise of medication and therapy. These issues combine to create a deep, thought provoking show with all the action and drama of a gangster film.

The Sopranos is the original gangster crime drama. The mafia is here and you should be afraid. Tony Soprano is explosive, greedy, deadly, an extortionist, a blackmailer, ruthless; everything needed to be an excellent mob boss... but this show isn't just about the mob; it's also about the struggles within his family and himself. I recommend this show to crime drama addicts everywhere.

In the opening scenes where the lovely wonderful character actor turned leading man James Gandolfini's character Tony Soprano beats a guy to a pulp - over nothing - I knew it wasn't for me. I can't bear violence so missed out on one of the great tv shows. :/

What more can be said about this outstanding program? I can't think of anything to say except this. If you have not watched The Sopranos you have failed in your duty as a citizen of the world.

After seeing Breaking Bad thought not to a serial I also liked more, but I changed my mind .
The Sopranos is a kind of Goodfellas more widely , of course, much more complex and good, professional in every respect , a serial addictive episode episode, script , directing combined many genres : crime drama , comedy .
J.Gandolfini is brilliant , perfectly played Tony Soprano , was seen as a good actor , Scorsese 's films over Pesci played from 99 ' to 2007 at the same level and it's hard in a Series , Tony Sirico also plays splendidly , but I did not expect I noticed right away , with Michael Imperioli , finally the 3 in the series are too good , excellent job done by David Chase .
Respect for this masterpiece series!
