The Most Important Shows on TV: Week of September 8, 2014

Which TV series will your friends (and the entire internet) be talking about this week? Stay informed—or at least be able to fake it—with SideReel's weekly guide to The Most Important Shows on TV.

19 Kids and Counting: S14E2

19 Kids and Counting

Tuesday at 9:00pm on TLC

Why: Have you SEEN this show? It's kind of insane. No one ever fights or even expresses anything less than a mildly positive thought. Also, recently affianced Jessa and Ben are having a (chaperoned, natch) date at a shooting range, which is basically the most romantic get together ever.

Prepare to talk about: How you can't imagine being a Duggar; how there is zero sibling conflict; what date suggestions could be less romance-inducing than a shooting range.

The Biggest Loser: S16E1

The Biggest Loser (Season Premiere)

Thursday at 8pm on NBC

Why: This season is all about former athletes! NFL players, Olympic gold medalists—they're just like us! Plus, this time, if they fail, you can have an excuse like "well, if even a former Olympian can't get it together, there's no reason for me to even try."

Prepare to talk about: How you kind of remember so-and-so from the whatever games; how much you hate the Patriots (or love them, I guess, if you're my dad); how you liked whatshisname when he was chubby.

Miss America 2015

Miss America 2015

Sunday at 9pm on ABC

Prepare to talk about: Whether it's fair to ask them policy questions; whether the swimsuit competition is better or worse than the evening gown competition; how you kind of wish William Shatner could host for real, just like he did in Miss Congeniality.
