From past experience with books turned movies or shows - they are never the same or do the books justice. So I just never had that expectation that this show would be any different.
For me, it's more comedy than drama and I enjoy it that way. I just take it as is. Comparisons just make me frustrated.
Take it or leave it - yes, so much could be done better. But the cast is wonderfully diverse and the second season far improves on the first after the producer was changed. Maybe the acting is slilted, but actors do have to work with the scripts they are given.
All in all, fairly high hopes that the show will continue to improve as its continues.
