I'm a total TV, and sometimes movie, geek. I like a great variety of genres but I like to keep it fresh and doesn't watch pure comedy or horror.
First of all, I'm an atheist!
I have loved CW for a long time, but I have to say lately it has become kind of cheap. This show is just that, cheap. The biggest problem, though, is that the concept doesn't stick. There's really not much more I can say.
The only good thing I can say is that I love the actors. Shantel VanSanten was great in One Tree Hill and JD Pardo so good in Revolution. Even if I think the show is cheap and based on a bad concept I will keep watching it (to the end) because of the chemistry between JD Pardo and Sofia Black-D'Elia, I am obsessed with them!
Dark, but funny. How do you keep living when the love of your life has passed on? This criminal drama has quickly become one of my favorites in the genre. I really love the quirkiness of it while at the same time battling issues like depression, suicidality and just plain life. Riggs's (Clayne Crawford) professional genius and swag is the absolut best about it all. And even though I thought he was perfect with his late wife, I can't wait for the future relationship between him and his therapist (Jordana Brewster), it is going to be epic (but I do want the creators to take their time getting there, which I'm sure they will have, the show has a bright future!).
I am so happy with this years ESC, yes the fact that I am Swedish probably plays a big part in that but still... I love Måns Zelmerlöw so very much and I said from his first performance in the Swedish Eurovision that the song and especially the scenography was something out of the ordinary. Måns also deserves this so much, he has wanted this his entire life! (As a sidenote though I have to say I actually thought Guy Sebastian and Australia entry was a tiny bit better than ours this year)
I've always love Eurovision so much. It's hard to actually describe what is so special about it but I think part of it is that this is something that we Europeans have to ourselves that is big, glamorous and amazing in comparison to everything that happens in the US and Hollywood. Some Swedes, including me, say that we are never as Swedish as we are during the ESC.
Harry Potter with added weirdness and sex, sounds good? I thought so too! And after the first season I do like the show, however not as much as I'd hoped to like it. There are some really interesting characters, pretty good acting and the plot is captivating and intriguing. I find the way they do the magic a bit pathetic though and there are characters that annoy the crap out of me. We'll have to see where season 2 goes.
I do like this show. It is always fun to follow a really smart character and see him/her come up with the most ridiculous solutions to problems and find their way out of impossible situations (even though it obviously becomes just that, ridiculous, after a while since every episode/season always have to exceed the previous ones). I admit that the show does feel like a hamster wheel from time to time, it constantly follows the same model: one person in a "prison" other people breaking them out, more people getting involved, someone holding loved ones hostage and so on. But I have to give it to the writers they really find a way to opt the game at the same time. I don't want to spoil anything but season 3 really blew my mind at first, it was truly epic.
Character wise there are both ones that I love and ones I hate. I have nothing bad to say about Michael or Sara however Lincoln is a complete waste of everyones time if you ask me. I get that he is kind of necessary to the plot (without him a lot of the drama would never happen) but it is just so annoying to have a character who is so stupid, worthless and driven by anger. I'm sorry to say I really hate the actors acting too. I always enjoy it when a tv-show introduces new characters that you hate at first but then grow to love thought, and that is something that this one does a lot. At the end you have come to sympathize with most of the characters. How ever that is another thing that is a little bit annoying with the show most of the lead characters seem to think that they are actually doing good things, which truth be told definitely is not the case. I don't have a moral problem with loving characters who do bad things for good reasons, as long as they realize and you can clearly tell that they know they're doing bad things. This does not apply to Michael, but to Lincoln and some other of the "good guy's".
The Tribe is a show I really enjoyed when I was younger. It's hard to grasp what's so good about it, to me I think it was more about the fact that it was one of the first tv-series that I watched. I thought the characters were so cool with their faces painted and the whole idea that "the mall rats" came together as a tribe and stuck by each other and protected each other.
My absolute favorite characters are Bray and Amber, the leaders of the main tribe, "the mall rats". But I genuinely like many of the other characters as well and as this was my first series the fact that the characters personalities had so many layers to them was really fascinating to me.
Looking at the series today I see that the acting may not have been the best and the special effects aren't all that great. I honestly don't know if kids today would enjoy the show but to me these negatives don't matter, it will always have a special place in my heart.
Okay so, yes, like everyone says this show got completely out of hand by the end, but I just don't care. It is such an original concept and the characters are so complex and well written that I will love it no matter what. When I say the concept is original I know that it's not really original with superpowers but what I mean is it's original of a show to do it so well and honestly I'm very surprised that it hasn't been done more. I always love a show that is really complex with characters and in this case their powers and who has which power and so forth, it makes for such interesting conversations with your friends when you talk about the show. With that said I do agree with everyone else about the remake of Heroes though, Heroes Reborn, that show was incredibly bad - but more about that in my review for that show...
Insanely good show but be aware it is extremely ridiculous a lot of the time. As a Swede I of course have to mention I am so very proud of my fellow Swede Alexander Skarskård who, of course, plays Eric. But other than that the show is really good (if you like supernatural elements in a show) for hand full of reasons. It is well written and the special effects are definitely satisfying. Quite soon into the seasons the plot becomes, again, extremely ridiculous but if you're fine with that and can realize that the show is about supernatural beings and therefore fiction and therefore isn't trying to be realistic you can definitely enjoy even the later seasons of it (like I did). One really cool thing about this supernatural show is that the mythology seems pretty bullet prof and if you allow your self to let go of reality while watching it, it can absolutely seem realistic (if that makes any sense).
Isn't this just the coolest show of us 90's kid's childhood? Kim Possible the unstoppable spy with the cool tech and of course RON! I'm not much for animated stuff, not even as a kid but this show was just that good! How awesome would it be if they made a real version movie or something!
What happened to this show? Did it seriously just get three episodes?
