Father Ted

Dermot Morgan's final performance is his magnum opus: Father Ted is a sitcom of unsurpassed quality. If I'm only ever allowed to watch one sitcom for the rest of eternity, this would be it.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is like smoking: it's terrible, but you just can't stop. The show has campy dialogue, an agonizingly slow plot, characters going momentarily stupid for said plot, frequent use of deus ex and all that topped off with disappointing cliffhangers at every turn.

Still, here I am, eagerly awaiting the next half of the season. Maybe I'm the real zombie in this affair?

Marvel's Iron Fist

Straight up mediocre, but easy to watch. Thankfully, the extremely high production values, enchanting performances by the supporting cast and well-choreographed fight scenes keep things pleasant.

If you're a fan of the comics expecting a faithful rendition, this one isn't for you. The campy, but light-hearted and immutable, Danny Rand has been replaced by an irrational and irritable man-child. Thematically, it's also much edgier/grittier than the original material, but if you don't give two craps about that and have enjoyed the other Marvel Netflix shows so far, chances are you'll enjoy this one too.

A predictable show greatly elevated by the quality of its dialogue. Characters are occasionally schizophrenic; they toss morals, duty, character development out the window at the snap of a finger, with only Jerome Flynn's character ever remaining consistent.

Aldnoah.Zero

An incoherent mess with occasional flashes of genius. The mecha combat is interesting and varied, particularly in a reverse Gundam sort-of way with its the protagonists using the inferior tech. Unfortunately, the fights are generally side-lined in favour of high school style anime drama that seems to plague the high level military organisations of both sides of the conflict.

A staggeringly enjoyable, if occasionally bizarre, show that's only improved with its 2nd season. Despite heavy use of circumstance as a plot device, the show maintains tension through excellent camera work, believably flawed characters and a great soundtrack (which really seals the deal).

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

To me, Brooklyn Nine-Nine stands out for two reasons. The first is that it's accessible: whoever you are, you're probably going to enjoy this show. It's clearly made with a wide audience of differing tastes in mind; there's something for everyone here! The other reason is that it's consistent: there are no weak episodes, no sudden sweeping changes. It has, so far, stuck to its guns: concise dialogue, a distinct and talented cast and the occasional, tasteful tug at the audience's heartstrings. It's paid off for them so far and I genuinely hope they can keep it up!
