No whistles and bells, just good story writing and solid acting. That's how TV should be!

First, this is not GoT. They got in way over their heads then, and please remember how much S8 has cost, and how shitty that end was. They tried to make every season better than the previous, but they didn't have a story at the end.

Here, they actually do have a story, and it's about a family. Yes, there is sometimes boring politics, but that's how most empires are formed, and not by some action scenes that have been put in just to have action scenes.

And no, as money is a lot tighter these days, there will not be expensive episodes, but there's a real story. A story of a largely dysfunctional family, who will be ultimately disposed of, as we already know.

They take the time for actual character development, and the risk of a time jump mid-season which required recasting. You don't have to always kill everyone off, though there definitely are people dying here.
