It’s been 15 years since American Football released its lone full-length album, which has slowly grown in influence over the years thanks to its delicate despondence and expert musicianship. Reactivating this year for a string of reunion shows—kicking off this weekend at Champaign, Illinois’ Pygmalion Festival and continuing through the end of the year—American Football, which features A.V. Undercover alumni Mike Kinsella, came to the office to tackle Elvis Costello’s sad-sack anthem “Alison,” while throwing in a small visual reference to Back To The Future that you’ll have to stick around to see.
