Natalie Prass doesn’t seem like the most obvious candidate to cover Slayer’s classic “Raining Blood,” with its lyrics about a “lacerated sky” and “crimson tears.” Then again, Prass’ self-titled debut—which came out earlier this year—does have its share of harrowing emotional moments, though delivered with a robust horn section instead of a crushing guitar. Prass took the song and made it her own, while also paying tribute to a titan of thrash-metal. Enjoy, though that might not be a strong enough word.
