'American Idol': Scotty McCreery identifies with Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez

Scotty McCreery knows the stress "American Idol" finalists Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez are under, considering he was one of the final two singers on the Nokia Theater stage just one year ago. "You know, early on I decided I can't have a favorite because I really know how each and every one of these kids are feeling," he says backstage after his performance of Season 11 exit song "Please Remember Me." "I've been in their shoes, I know how their heart's pounding before the show and the nerves, and their stomach's in knots. I feel for them because I know the nerves they're going through. But afterwards I know they're relieved. And I'm relieved for them, because I know they did great." Although the judges declared Sanchez the winner of the first two rounds and Phillips the third, McCreery says it doesn't really matter in the end. "I don't know if I won a... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/american-idol-scotty-mccreery-identifies-with-phillip-phillips-and-jessica-sanchez.html

American Idol Backstage Report: The Final Countdown

American Idol took over the Nokia Theater L.A. Live on Tuesday night as finalists Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez hit the stage for the last time in front of 7,000 fans. Throughout the hour, the audience was overwhelmingly in favor of acoustic rocker Phillips, and he received the loudest cheers for his last song, "Home." The applause was so deafening it even drowned out comments from the judges and host Ryan Seacrest. And while the judges gave Sanchez glowing reviews for her first two performances, they were extremely critical of her last song, "Change Nothing." //www.tvguide.com/News/American-Idol-Backstage-1047891.aspx?rss=breakingnews

'American Idol': Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez say 'win or lose, we both won'

At this point in the "American Idol" competition, Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez seem excited for the whole thing to end. When the two finalists are ushered backstage to talk with press after the first part of the Season 11 finale, they seem tired and keep talking about how happy they are to have gotten so far in the game. That's probably partially true, but considering it's now been almost an entire year since they first auditioned for "Idol," they're also probably grateful the whole thing's ending soon.Sure, it's partially humility talking when Phillips insists he doesn't care that the judges picked Sanchez to win two out of the three rounds of the performance show -- "whatever happens, happens; we are two completely different artists," he says -- or when Sanchez insists being a Top 2 finisher is an honor in and of itself -- "We're just trying to have fun right now. It's the... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/05/american-idol-phillip-phillips-and-jessica-sanchez-say-win-or-lose-we-both-won.html

American Idol 2012 Contestant Phillip Phillips’ Song “Home” Sounds Like Mumford & Sons… So Who Are They?

Should Phillip Phillips win American Idol 2012, you will hear his winning song "Home" a lot. When Randy Jackson compared the tune to Mumford & Sons, a lot of the audience was likely in agreement, while others may not have heard of the folky, bluegrass band. Though they’ve received Grammy Award nominations and radio play, the British band is still indie enough that it might not be a household name yet. Their debut album, Sigh No More, was released in the U.S. in... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/LIR3eP04I6Y/american-idol-2012-contestant-phillip-phillips-song-home-sounds-like-mumford-sons-so-who-are-they
