'America's Next Top Model': 'The Girl Who Makes the Grade' recap

All right everyone, it's time to sink our teeth into a new season of  America's Next Top Model . But it's not just a new season, it's a whole new show - well, at least that's what  Tyra Banks  is going for. To that end, all the familiar faces (besides the supermodel herself) are gone. No more Miss Jay, No more Nigel Barker... sigh! Instead, the 19th cycle has got some new tricks up its sleeve.  Joining Tyra on the judging panel is the returning Kelly "Cut-throat" Cutrone, model Rob Evans, blogger BryanBoy and stylist Johnny Wujek, who is responsible for Katy Perry's cream-shooting bosoms on the 'Teenage Dream' tour. Also, the fans are getting a voice! Viewers can join the panel by Skyping in and getting catty right along with the panellists. Should be fun, no? Especially considering that this is a 'college cycle', meaning all of our contestants are also students. Tyra knows all about college, being a Harvard graduate. (Except not really.) 'America's Next Top Model' Premiere Recap: School Is In

Tonight, Tyra Banks will present her controversial and confusing 19th cycle of America's Next Top Model to the few of us who may still care, or at least want to see what all the fuss is over. ANTM has, undoubtedly, become a cultural phenomenon during its nine years on-air, acquiring fans both stateside and abroad with adaptations in numerous countries that I will forgo attempting to spell correctly let alone pronounce. So why change it all up now? Why kick beloved judges Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and Miss J to the curb, making room for the opinionated Kelly Cutrone? Tyra has been around the block for years, so let's give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she must know what she's doing, right? //www.buddytv.com/articles/americas-next-top-model/americas-next-top-model-premie-47180.aspx

ANTM Cycle 19 Premiere Recap: Is the Rebooted Format Smize Worthy?

Welcome, class, to the new America's Next Top Model! But first, as one Cycle 19 modelstant wisely requested on the premiere, "Let’s have a moment of silence for Rob Evans and how fine he is." Oh yes. Rob is one of the good changes on the newly redesigned ANTM. That boy gives new meaning to Tyra Banks’ long-standing question, "You wanna be on top?" So far our only complaint about him is he needs more screen time. Johnny Wujek, known for being Katy... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/1lwfmEmY-oE/antm-cycle-19-premiere-recap-is-the-rebooted-format-smize-worthy

America's Next Top Model 19.01 "The Girl Who Makes the Grade" Recap

Y'all, the casting episode of Top Model has made its triumphant return to the runway. In recent times, the show had been trying to evolve into Top Model 2.0, a bigger, better, and battier version of itself that tossed out certain elements of formula and replaced them with...chaos and a whole lot of ridiculous. Like, even more than before and that's saying a lot. But following a ratings collapse and viewer revolt once the cycle 17 finale ended in the wonkiest way imaginable, leaving a promising British Invasion cycle on an island by its lonesome, a little bit of old Top Model has returned. Case in point: the resurrection of the casting episode, where Miss Tyra herds a group of ladies together and lets them be silly, talk about one another behind their backs, and ultimately get their stomp on down the catwalk.
