After briefly hearing the voice of Orion in the park, the heroine goes home and talks with Shin about their relationship. The next day, her coworkers invite her to light fireworks with them. Shin shows up at the party and needs to talk to the Heroine alone. As they walk into the forest, Shin suddenly pins her to the tree as he explains the accident to her. The events he describes are similar to how she remembers falling from the cliff, but not identical. Shin becomes aggressive, and the Heroine becomes afraid of him again, and tries to run away from him like she did before. But this time, Shin grabs her arm to save her, and apologizes for trying to rush their relationship. The heroine and Shin return to the others who are lighting fireworks, and sit down on the steps. The heroine is reminded of her memory of Shin confessing to killing a man while sitting on these same steps, but Shin's confession plays out differently: he tells her that his father killed a man. Shin continues explaining his past, in hopes to spark more of her memories. After the firework show was over, Shin asks the Heroine again about dating him. She responds that she doesn't know him very well, which he accepts. Afterwards Shin passionately kisses her, but she doesn't break away this time. The heroine wants to quickly gain her memories back for the sake of herself and Shin.
As they walk home, the heroine steps into the road and about to be hit by a truck when she loses vision. She suddenly wakes up in her room and realizes that time has reverted to August 1 again. She meets with Ikki, a coworker who always wears sunglasses, outside her apartment, and he teases her and offers sexual favors.
