Animal Practice’s Justin Kirk Doesn’t Condone Pet Monkeys, Okay?

Crystal the Monkey , star of NBC's Animal Practice, is super cute (exhibit A through Z: this video ). But before you go mail-ordering a Capuchin, Crystal's human co-star Justin Kirk wants you to know something: "As adorable as she is, you should not be getting a fucking monkey as a pet," he told Vulture at a screening of Butter hosted by the Cinema Society last night. "We've been a little embattled by this lately, so let me take this opportunity to say that Tom [Gunderson], her handler, and all the cast of Animal Practice , do not advocate having a monkey as a pet. This is our fear, that if the show is a success" — alas, not the case so far — "people are going to be getting a bunch of monkeys, and not knowing what to do with them." As for whether Crystal has been throwing her feces around set, Kirk assures she has not been (she's a lady, people). "But a snake pooped once on our show," he said. "You wouldn't think snakes would do that, but they do — and it was like an omelette." In other words: Snakes make bad pets, too. //www.vulture.com/2012/09/justin-kirk-doesnt-condone-pet-monkeys-okay.html

'Animal Practice': About the time a snake almost killed Bobby Lee...

Spend some time with the cast of NBC's new comedy "Animal Practice" and one of the first things they'll bring up is the time a snake almost killed costar Bobby Lee."Did everyone hear about the Bobby Lee snake incident? There's a scene in the pilot where he's got a snake wrapped around his face," Justin Kirk tells Zap2it on a recent visit to the set of the NBC sitcom. "It emitted an 'I don't want to be here' juice on his face."PHOTOS: What to expect from fall TVWhen Lee tells the story, he tries to brush it off like the boa constrictor incident wasn't a big deal. Tyler Labine puts it a little more dramatically. "It was trying to kill you. I want to milk the drama of this," he says.Lee gives in. "This boa constrictor is around my neck. It's squeezing as hard as it can," he says. Well, maybe not as hard as... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/09/animal-practice-about-the-time-a-snake-almost-killed-bobby-lee.html

Monkey business on 'Animal Practice'

She's a hairy little diva, but her fellow actors don't seem to mind. Meet Crystal, the Capuchin monkey taking center stage on NBC's new sitcom 'Animal Practice.' Crystal nibbles on some yogurt and nuts as her eyes dart around the room. A wardrobe person comes by with an outfit to wear in the next scene but it is too big to fit her slim figure and Crystal seems less than thrilled. //feeds.latimes.com/~r/latimes/entertainment/news/tv/~3/KwVLgU1Q6O8/la-et-st-animal-practice-crystal-capuchin-monkey-20120926,0,1841293.story
