With Marika and her crew hunting for the golden ghost ship, Chiaki and the Barbarossa takes over for them on entertaining space cruises by pretending to be them. As the Bentenmaru travels into a space storm to one of the ghost ship location's, Coorie hacks into the Serenity Fleet's buoy arrays which are also searching for the ghost ship but whats unusual for Marika, Coorie and Gruelle is that Gruelle can access the buoy arrays using her biodata, the buoys were launched 15 years ago despite the fact Gruelle was born 2 years after their launch. When one of the buoys detect the ghost ship, Marika orders the Bentamaru to hyperspace jump to that location and prepare for battle, expecting to encounter enemies who are also searching for it. But by the time they reach the location, the ghost ship has jump into subspace and they are surrounded by a hostile Serenity Fleet. Due to the space storm, the Serenity fleet are unable to detect the Bentenmaru clearly. To escape quickly to the ghost ship's next location, the Bentenmaru launches decoys to confuses the entire fleet and does a crippling hit and run on two escort Serenity ships heading their way. Finally out of danger, Gruelle wants to contact the Serenity Fleet, believing the fleet attacked them by mistake but Marika advises her not to due the fact she and Gruelle are not suppose to be here thanks to Chiaki and the space yacht club covering for them. Furthermore, the fleet has refuse to contact them and shown hostile actions to prevent anyone from finding the ghost ship, suggesting someone from the Serenity Royal family is involved. Nevertheless, Marika promises Gruelle that she and the crew are still going to help her find the golden ghost ship.
