‘Breaking Bad’ Too Sad? Stephen Colbert Finds the Funny in Fox’s Report on Ariel Castro Suicide (Video)

There is a lot of depressing news out there putting Stephen Colbert in a funk: chemical-weapons use in Syria, radiation in Fukushima, “Breaking Bad” is ending. “Even worse, I’m starting to think that Hank and Walt may not end up together,” the “Colbert Report” host said Thursday. To turn that frown upside down, Colbert dipped into his “Smile File” and found the silver lining in Ariel Castro’s suicide. After all, the man was a monster who did taxpayers a favor — imagine how expensive 1,000 years in prison would be? //www.thewrap.com/stephen-colbert-pulls-ariel-castro-suicide-and-fox-news-coverage-out-of-his-smile-file-video/

As "Breaking Bad" reached the halfway point of its final eight episodes on Sunday (Sept. 1), one aspect of the show lingered -- and not just the fact that Walt had apparently put a hit on Jesse. In fact, it was something that wasn't even part of the episode. It happened in the show's first episode of 2013, and before that its first episode of 2012: The sight of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) on his 52nd birthday, with a full beard and head of hair, eating a lonely breakfast as "Mr. Lambert" before acquiring some heavy weaponry and then stopping by the shell of his former house, scaring the bejeezus out of his neighbor in the process. Both flash-forwards were tantalizing glimpses at Walt's approaching future. They suggest that he doesn't get to walk away unscathed from all the wrong he's done, although they give little indication as to how or why his meth-cooking empire crumbles. The past... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/09/breaking-bad-is-running-out-of-time-to-catch-up-to-its-flash-forwards.html

Breaking Bad Writer Sam Catlin on Walt's Achilles' Heel and the Importance of Tighty-Whities

Not to ruin your Labor Day weekend,  Breaking Bad  fans, but we’re half-way through the final eight episodes. Sad but true. And stressful!
