Week of 3/8 - Ten Things We Can't Wait For! - Featured

Another great week of television is upon us! 10 things we are most excited for: 1. The L Word finishes up its run! - Loved it or hated it , we've got to single out the "Last Word" for groundbreaking Showtime series The L Word . Still holding out hope for that spinoff? 2. Breaking Bad Season 2 Premiere! - You might have glossed over this show's quick 7 episode first season, but Bryan Cranston's Emmy-award winning performance makes this one that you definitely don't want to miss! 3. Guest star mania on How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory ! Laura Prepon hits up HIMYM as Ted's ex-girlfriend and Summer Glau hits up Big Bang as herself! 4. Premiere of Dancing with the Stars ! I was never a DWTS enthusiast, but the Olympics-nut that I was...I can't wait to see little Shawn Johnson put on her dancing shoes! Steve Wozniak should be a hoot as well. 5. Nathan Fillion returns to TV in Castle ! Guest starring in Desperate Housewives was a start, but we all know that Nathan Fillion deserves his own show! 6. South Park returns! South Park returns Wednesday night with an episode promising to skewer those slightly obnoxious Jonas Brothers and their purity rings... 7. Chopping Block premieres on NBC! Yeah, it looks like a cheap knock off of every other cooking show on TV, but its high time NBC introduces its own spin on the food theme, so we're willing to give this a shot! 8. Smallville and Supernatural return to The CW! - It's about damn time...am I right? Look for Tori Spelling's return to Smallville as Linda Lake. 9. Tonight's TV Hot List: Monday, March 9, 2009 - Featured

* Dancing with the Stars (8 pm/ET ABC) The eighth season kicks off with two celebrities already out of the competition. Announced participants Jewel and Nancy O'Dell dropped out on Thursday due to injuries they suffered during training. But the show must go on, and the remaining celebs - including Denise Richards, Lil' Kim, Shawn Johnson and Lawrence Taylor - should still be eager to strut their stuff and become the next Brooke Burke. And romance is definitely in the air this spring, as two real-life couples take to the floor: Julianne Hough pairs up with her boyfriend, Chuck Wicks, and pro dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy tries to outlast his fiancee, fellow pro Karina Smirnoff. * Heroes (9 pm/ET NBC) Now that Sylar's image of his father has been, errr, tarnished, it's probably safe to assume their reunion won't be picture-perfect. After a long search, the baddie finally finds his dad (John Glover) tonight, but the meeting doesn't go the way he'd imagined. Elsewhere, the Hunter continues to be a thorn in Nathan's side as he tries to usurp Nathan's operation and uncover Petrelli family secrets (and, boy, are there plenty of those). * How I Met Your Mother (8:30 pm/ET CBS) That '70s Show's Laura Prepon is still getting stuck in the past - but at least she's moving up a few decades. Prepon plays Ted's former flame from college, with whom he reunites. Nice for Ted, but not for Lily and Marshall, who reveal how much they detested the snooty woman. * Castle (10:02 pm/ET ABC) Who says crime doesn't pay? Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) both make a successful living off of it in ABC's new crime drama. The twist? Celebrity mystery writer Castle and hard-nosed detective Beckett team up to catch a serial killer who has been plagiarizing in the worst way: bringing Castle's fictitious murders to life in New York City. Faster than you can say "moonlighting," sparks fly between the two charming leads. * Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (10 pm/ET Travel) Anthony Bourdain first visited Vietnam in 2000, and he's longed to live there ever since. On his return to Saigon, he meets up with his former boss, the always adventurous Philippe Lajaunie. The two explore the flavors, sights, sounds and smells that keep them coming back for more. Then, the host thinks about turning his dream into a reality and checks out potential properties in Hoi An, a picturesque village filled with rice-paddy fields, water buffalo and pointy hats. Meet Castle's Sexy New Crime-Fighting Duo - Featured

Think "Moonlighting" meets "Murder She Wrote" when ABC premieres its new romance-mystery series, "Castle." At least that is what Nathan Fillion, who stars as Richard Castle, tells ET. Castle is a murder mystery writer, who kills off the lead character in his successful series, and finds inspiration when a real-world copycat killer starts knocking people off the same way he did in his books. "I will be your Jessica Fletcher," he jokes, referring to the character played by Angela Lansbury. It isn't long until Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), a New York City detective, who is also a fan, shows up at his doorstep to interview him. Castle works with her to solve the crime -- and sparks fly -- so does the aforementioned inspiration. Castle decides to base his new murder mystery series on a woman detective and pulls strings -- he has a lot of friends in high places -- so he can shadow Kate as she solves crimes. "Either she will have to marry him or kill him," jokes Stana. Nathan, of course, is an alum of another ABC series, " Desperate Housewives ," on which he played Katherine's (Dana Delany) husband. "Lovely, lovely group, really nice people. I made a lot of friends. They were very kind to me. But I spent a lot of time sitting around in a living room saying 'Uh-huh. Yes. That's right. Well, I'll back you up on that.' I decided in my next job, I wanted to ... I'm an actor. I have that wonderful job where every day can be an adventure for me. That's what Castle is. Every day of his life is a field trip. He's a child inside." Prior to landing the role of Castle, Nathan wasn't much of a mystery novel reader. But since he was cast, he has started reading Clive Cussler, James Patterson and now is deep into Robert Parker's Spenser For Hire series. "Something that Robert Parker has done very, very well is his attention to detail," Nathan adds. "That's also, I think, one of Castle's strengths. He pays very, very close attention. He is a spoiled brat. He does kind of do his own thing. He's kind of in his own world, but he's a clever guy. He's very, very clever." And, if you are clever, you will notice in the series' premiere, when Castle plays poker with Patterson and Stephen J. Cannell -- it is the real authors playing themselves! "Castle" premieres Monday, March 9 at 10 p.m. on ABC. Source here
