'Charlie's Angels' video clip: 'Pure candy' angels with some baggage

Zap2it was on the scene at ABC's Upfront press conference in NYC on May 17 to preview the network's 2011-2012 slate, and there's no doubt that "Charlie's Angels" stood out from the crowd. ABC Entertainment president Paul Lee referred to the show as "pure candy" twice, and when you see the beautiful women (hello, catsuits!) and classic action shots in the video clip, you'll understand why.The series reintroduces the three angels as women with decidedly sketchy pasts, instead of the squeaky-clean police trained angels of yesteryear. Abby (Rachael Taylor) is a rich girl gone bad - think Blair Waldorf turned expert cat burglar. Kate (Annie Ilonzeh) is a former Miami officer who "fell from grace," while Eve (Minka Kelly) is a street racer who joins the other women when her childhood friend is killed."Charlie's Angels," obviously a remake of the classic show, is written and executive produced by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the team... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/charlies-angels-video-clip-pure-candy-angels-with-some-baggage.html

'Charlie's Angels' photos: See the new Angels in action

ABC officially unveiled its schedule for its 2011/2012 season with reporters on Tuesday (May 17), and it shocked no one to see "Charlie's Angels" make the line-up. "Charlie's Angels" scored the 8 p.m. timeslot on Thursdays. The reboot of the '70s smash hit stars Rachael Taylor, Annie Ilonzeh and Minka Kelly, who have inherited the iconic wings. Well, not wings, but you get the idea. Taylor plays Abby, a park avenue princess who became a world-class thief. Ilonzeh is former Miami cop Kate, who fell from grace and lost her career and fiancé in the process. Kelly plays Eve, a street racer with a mysterious past. Abby and Kate partner with her after one of the angels' missions ends in Eve's childhood friend Gloria's death. Taking on the role of Bosley is Ramon Rodriguez.ABC released photos from "Charlie's Angels," including Abby and Eve's first meeting (strangling is involved), the Angels and Bosley making a getaway... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/05/charlies-angels-photos-see-the-new-angels-in-action.html

Drew Barrymore to Revive 'Charlie's Angels' for TV

Drew Barrymore is giving wings to "Charlie's Angels" - the actress is making plans to bring the hit TV series back to the small screen. Barrymore has produced and starred in two film adaptations of the 1970s show - and now she's breathing new life into the franchise, which launched Farrah Fawcett's career, by reviving it for TV. Barrymore is currently scouting a new trio of sexy crimefighters and insists they must be "incredibly capable, but not take themselves too seriously. That's a tough combination to find." Meanwhile filmmaker McG, who directed Barrymore in her Angels films, will serve as consultant on the project - and is aiming to diversify the team of secret agents. He adds, "This is a more progressive, 2010 take on the idea. We want to be even more progressive in terms of racial background." McG has named Rihanna as his dream Angel. Source Here

Cameron Diaz Gives Thumbs Up to 'Charlie's Angels 3'

Having a number of future projects lining-up in front of her apparently doesn't stop Cameron Diaz to do another " Charlie's Angels " movie should the third one is being developed. The Natalie Cook of the action-comedy franchise fessed up about her willingness in an interview with MTV News while promoting "The Box". "You know people ask me about it all the time," she stated when presented with the possibility of returning. "I would love to do it. It's just a matter of us getting off our butts and doing it. Totally lazy! Our work ethic sucks, all of us." Asked whether or not Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore and director McG would be back, the 33-year-old responded, "I mean I would love to do, but again [I] have no idea. It's not anything real. There's no tangible evidence in my life." Words of potential "Charlie's Angels 3" were sparked by producers Nancy Juvonen and Drew Barrymore in early 2009. During the promotion of "He's Just Not That Into You", Barrymore first said, "I'm so into it. I'm so into it - Charlie's Angels III!", before Nancy Juvonen added, "It's percolating up. It's rising to the surface." Rumor has it, the possible follow-up to " Charlie's Angels:Full Throttle " may become a vehicle to introduce a fourth Angel, whose shoes was speculated to be filled by either Rihanna or Penelope Cruz. In the original TV series by Aaron Spelling, the fourth Angel was brought in when Cheryl Ladd joined the cast in 1977 as Kris Munroe, sister of Jill portrayed by Farrah Fawcett. Source Here

Farrah Fawcett Dies at 62 - Featured

There was always something major about Farrah Fawcett. An enduring pop-culture icon for more than three decades, the Charlie's Angels superstar and '70s fashion goddess endured the sort of stinging reviews and embarrassing tabloid headlines that would sink many a career. But the Texas beauty, who died Thursday, June 25 at 62 after a very public three-year battle against cancer, never stopped fighting for respect. She shot to the top in 1976 as Farrah Fawcett-Majors, the model-starlet wife of Six Million Dollar Man Lee Majors. She quickly eclipsed his fame and fortune--thanks in part to a swimsuit poster pin-up phenomenon that triggered male pheremones across the country. Her luxurious mane of feathered hair was the "Rachel" of its day, and her robust athleticism, capped by that blinding smile kept her from seeming like a Marilyn Monroe wannabe. "I didn't come to Los Angeles wanting to be anything. I was led. Events happened, fell into place," Fawcett told TV Guide Magazine in 1983. Landing an agent and a husband in short order, she appeared in commercials and bit parts (most notably in the 1970 movie "Myra Breckinridge"). Then she was cast on Angels as the world's jiggliest undercover detective Jill Monroe, a supporting player to more-established headliner Kate Jackson. The show was an instant hit--Fawcett once joked, "When we got to be No. 1, I decided it could only be because none of us wears a bra"--but the most popular Angel rocked the TV world by leaving the show after only one chart-topping season. (Lawsuits forced her to appear as an occasional guest star over the next few years.) She also left Majors behind. After striking out in a few flop movies, Fawcett found her professional and personal bearings in the '80s. She earned strong reviews as abused and vengeful women in the off-Broadway and film versions of "Extremities," and most famously in the 1984 TV-movie The Burning Bed, which brought her the first of three Emmy nominations. She also became romantically linked with bad-boy actor Ryan O'Neal, and their stormy relationship continued on and off for the rest of her life. They had a son (Redmond, who was recently arrested on charges of felony drug possession) and briefly co-starred in the short-lived 1991 sitcom Good Sports and a celeb-reality show, Chasing Farrah, in 2005. Besides Angels and Burning Bed, Fawcett is remembered for her 1997 appearance on David Letterman's late-night talk show, where she appeared dazed and confused--and possibly on something (though she denied it). Even then, you couldn't take your eyes off her. That's the mark of a star, and Farrah Fawcett ranks now and forever as one of TV's most incandescent "it" girls.
