The best comedy TV episodes of 2012: 'New Girl,' 'Chuck' and 'Community'

2012 was a good year for comedy. The explosion of sitcoms over the past couple of years made it virtually impossible to narrow down the very best of the best, even if it I ignored the hilarity of shows like "Parks and Recreation," "Raising Hope" and "The Neighbors." (Yes, "The Neighbors." It's way funnier than people have told you.)Still, there were three episodes -- from such shows as "New Girl," "Chuck" and "Community" -- that really stood out from the sea of funny in this past year."New Girl": "Eggs"There aren't many comedies that speak to thirty-something singles. While I do find many comedies hilarious, it's tough to identify with slackers in their 20s or married couples joking their way into middle age. This isn't the case with "New Girl." As a single, not-so-young-anymore woman who hasn't totally grown up yet, I recognize these people. That's why I completely identified with everything that happened in the... //

TV Ratings: CBS rules Friday night with 'A Gifted Man,' 'CSI: NY' and 'Blue Bloods'

Though the 18-49 target age group was invested in the "Chuck" finale with a little over 4 million viewers, CBS was the big winner on Friday with "A Gifted Man" (despite the fact that all signs point to the death of that show), "CSI: NY" and "Blue Bloods." To hear him tell it, though, it was one of the few times in the show's last week of production that he didn't."[The final day] is going to be nothing but waterworks, I'm sure," Levi said. "But last week, we shot pretty much all of the goodbye scenes -- all the characters saying goodbye to one another -- and when art is imitating life simultaneously in that moment, and I'm looking at my friends of five years, my family of five years, in a scene I'm having to look at them say goodbye and I really am saying goodbye? That was -- yeah."He doesn't have... //

You can also read the three other pieces we've posted so far on the end of the show."Chuck" has already had four or five episodes that could have served as a series finale if the perennially on-the-bubble show hadn't made it to another season. "So it's a little different than in seasons past, where I had a whole back pocket or secret door where I could push the story through and find new tales to tell. This is very much, we're closing... //

'Chuck' finale: Joshua Gomez gets some closure on Morgan Grimes

Previously on Zap2it's "Chuck" finale countdown, we spoke with Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin and the members of Jeffster! as they filmed the show's last episode. Up next: Morgan Guillermo Grimes himself, Joshua Gomez. The prevailing theme during "Chuck's" final days of filming was, not surprisingly, the emotions the cast and crew were feeling at the end of their five-season run together. Joshua Gomez says the waves of feeling started even before that."I get a text from Ryan McPartlin going , 'Dude, I just got the last script. I'm in tears, man,'" Gomez says. "I'm like, 'Oh, was it good?' He's like, 'No, I just looked at the title.' I'm like, 'Dude, didn't you play football?' This guy, he blows my mind.
