It's night four in a week long dinner party war and tonight’s host is a lawyer by day and a foodie by night. Taking her turn to shine in the kitchen is Kate Salter and joining her around the dinner table is loud and proud Italian, Lisa Del Core, headhunter Erin Plasky, hotel manager Rolf Kenda, and karate master Richard Hatch.
Kate is looking to raise the bar tonight with her fabulous menu and she doesn't mind sucking up a little bit too. For her first impression she is serving a salt tasting menu for her appetizer. Guests will enjoy light to heavy finishing salts along with tuna ceviche and bone marrow beautifully presented on a black slate. After some mixed reviews the guests get silly doing their best ostrich impressions before the main is served; filet of ostrich with sweet corn puree, pommes anna and micro green salad. The guests may not like lavender but Kate is putting it in her dessert; seasonal fruit panna cotta. They will have to put their dislike aside for one night.
