The Kougan discover from surveillance videos that Hokuto, leader of the Seven Stars, is in the area. Aragami gives the intel to Keisei, while Makina struggles to keep her excitement and anger under control at the prospect of achieving her vengeance against the Seven Stars. Ouri returns to living at the orphanage for the time being since he is unemployed. Keisei reveals more to Ouri about his bond with Makina: he was raised by Makina's father; Keisei elaborates about why he made the pact to be Makina's contracted priest. Meanwhile, the plan to destroy the Kougon Sect advances when Ena, one of the Seven Stars, makes his move and possesses Ouri. Kowaku, another of the Seven Stars, and the traitor monk Akasha attack Keisei and Makina at the temple grounds. Akasha reveals that this frontal assault was a ruse, and retreats, with Keisei in hot pursuit and Makina left at the temple grounds to engage Kowaku. While checking on the safety of the orphans, Keisei is stabbed by the possessed Ouri.
