Nia Vardalos Joins Husband Ian Gomez on Cougar Town

If the gropes foisted upon Andy by his sister-in-law Angela look a little too natural in tonight's episode of Cougar Town , they should — guest star Nia Vardalos is costar Ian Gomez's real-life wife. We chatted with the droll couple about how the My Big Fat Greek Wedding writer-star's gig came about. //www.tvguide.com/News/Nia-Vardalos-Cougar-Town-1032943.aspx?rss=breakingnews

NBC has released a picture from next week's 'Community' season finale (paintball part deux, part deux) that appears to confirm our suspicions that a multi-network 'Community'-'Cougar Town' crossover episode is in the works. This development marks an awesome next step in the referential love-fest that's been going on between the two shows for well over a year. What's the photo? Check out 'Cougar Town' actors Dan Byrd and Busy Philipps standing behind 'Community' actors Donald Glover, Danny Pudi and Alison Brie in the background of this picture. 'Cougar Town': The 'Invisible' woman

Last night’s  Cougar Town  taught us a valuable lesson about embarrassment: You can’t hear the world laughing at you if you’re laughing harder. (Or in Andy’s case, if you have pool water stuck in your ear.) It also taught us the importance of a good history lesson. If you don’t learn the simple stuff, you might just end up looking like a super-sexy corpse. And I  think  that’s a bad thing. We learned how charitable the cul-de-sac crew is: Laurie raises money for public schools, Grayson helps eradicate non-indigenous species in the Everglades, Bobby volunteers at a soup kitchen—just as a taster, but still—and Ellie and Andy both help out at a women’s shelter. The women take turns kicking Andy in the crotch during their self-defense classes.Another day, another kick in the crotch. Jules, although happy just writing checks, realized she wanted to get involved too. She joined Laurie’s charity, The Wonder of Reading. Reading helped Laurie get out of her crap school and neighborhood, so she felt the need to give back. ( Ed. note: "reading" in that last sentence can be defined as "car modeling." ) Read More... //popwatch.ew.com/2011/04/28/cougar-town-recap-youre-gonna-get-it/

'Cougar Town' invites you to join Laurie's Army

The "Cougar Town" Penny Can phone is still active, and several members of the cast and crew are active on Twitter. On Wednesday (April 27), Laurie Keller will join them.In Wednesday's episode, Laurie -- not to be confused with the actress who plays her, Busy Philipps -- will discuss her Twitter feed, @thelarmy (for The Laurie's Army). It's active now, and will get a lot more active once Wednesday's episode airs."Within the show, the character is tweeting to her followers constantly," "Cougar Town" co-creator Bill Lawrence tells Zap2it. "She says her followers want 24 hours of constant contact, so we're going to be [updating] for like 24 straight hours when the show comes on."As of this post, Philipps herself was not following Laurie, thereby avoiding the possibility of real and fictional worlds collapsing on one another and, possibly, the end of civilization. You can see the leader of Laurie's Army in action when "Cougar Town" airs... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/04/cougar-town-invites-you-to-join-lauries-army.html

Top Moments: Dancing's Sex on a Stick and a Surprise 30 Rock Cameo

Our top moments of the week: 12. Best Freudian Slip:  On  The Amazing Race: Unfinished Business , Flight Time has a Freudian slip — literally — as he falls flat on his butt while transporting Sigmund Freud's couch to the University of Vienna. But we think the meaning was lost on him altogether since he describes the psychoanalyst as such: "He used to have dreams about sleeping with his mama and all that kind of crazy stuff." 11. Worst Scapegoat:  Phillip asks Steve if the two divided parts of the tribe can share one rice can on  Survivor: Redemption Island , but Steve declines. Their disagreement escalates quickly, culminating in Steve calling Phillip a "lunatic." Rather than walk away, Phillip turns the fight into a race war and says that "anytime somebody of my color" starts a fight, the person is a lunatic. Yes, Phillip, that's it -- it's not because of your CIA ramblings, your tiny pink briefs or the feather on your head that you claim came out of thin air. 'Cougar Town': Busy Philipps ponders the Laurie-Travis question

As you saw in Wednesday's (April 20) episode of "Cougar Town," Laurie is on her way to reclaiming her inner tramp. "A little bit, yeah," Busy Philipps tells Zap2it about Laurie going back to her pre-serious relationship ways in the last few episodes of the season. "... With Jules [Courteney Cox] and Grayson [Josh Hopkins] pairing up, and Bobby [Brian Van Holt] is sort of off on his own lone journey, they need someone who's dating. Every group of friends needs to have one person who's dating."Philipps also talked with us prior to Wednesday's Academy of Television Arts and Sciences event honoring "Cougar Town" about the chatter surrounding a possible, down-the-road relationship for Laurie and Travis (Dan Byrd). It's been a topic of discussion both with fans and in the show's writers room."I think that generally what has happened is that Dan Byrd and I are close in real life -- in age and just... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/04/cougar-town-busy-philipps-ponders-the-laurie-travis-question.html

'Cougar Town' Moment: Things Get Hairy When Jules Babysits Stan (VIDEO)

The direction this episode of 'Cougar Town' went in was interesting. First, there was the plot where Andy plays Laurie's wingman as she tries to get back into "bed 'em and ditch 'em" mode. Then you had Bobby trying all he could to get up super-early and catch a free tee time. But the most intriguing plot was where Ellie challenged Jules to babysit Stan for a night. Jules thinks that bringing up a kid shouldn't be any more difficult in your 40s than it was in your 20s, when she did it. Ellie knows differently, and the night Jules and Grayson spent with Stan bore that out. Stan's a good kid, but he's got his own foibles, like a long list of things he's allergic to, and the ability to work locks after getting into things he shouldn't. So, Jules hides all the dangerous things in the house -- knives, a brulee torch, the merlot -- in her lockable pantry / safe room, not thinking that Stan would ever make his way in there. She was wrong. //www.tvsquad.com/2011/04/21/cougar-town-moment-things-get-hairy-when-jules-babysits-stan/

'Cougar Town' Moment: A Radio Ad for Penny Can (VIDEO)

'Cougar Town' is back, and as Mo Ryan said in her review, it's picking up where it left off when it in February, with the exploits of the Cul de Sac Crew being just as funny as ever. Yes, there was some seriousness in the mix -- mainly with the story of Jules trying not to meddle with her son Travis's desire to ask his girlfriend to marry him -- but general goofiness is usually what people remember the most from any particular episode. Take Penny Can ... or, rather: Penny Can! Who says that Bobby Cobb isn't an innovator? Toss a penny into a paint can from a distance and make up your own rules as you go along. The "in and out" rule we found out about this week was one of their better ones, mainly because we got to see Courteney Cox with a Magic Marker mustache. Anyway, it's a fun game. And, believe it or not, it's marketable. Yes, it's an old paint can with a label on it, and you have to supply your own pennies (no nickels allowed), but I'd buy one after hearing the radio ad he and Laurie created for it. //www.tvsquad.com/2011/04/19/cougar-town-moment-a-radio-ad-for-penny-can/
