Dancing With the Stars 2013: Do the Surprise Eliminations Make You Dislike the Show?

Dancing With the Stars Season 17 has had its fair share of shocking eliminations, and none more so than watching Elizabeth Berkley head home on the same night she scored a perfect 30 for her Trio and landed in second place on the leaderboard. Derek Hough has blamed the new voting system — in which votes based on the previous week's performances are combined with scores from the current week to decide who goes home, for the surprising eliminations — though many fans argue that Elizabeth (and... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/ui9PD6bEZfM/2013-11-13-do-surprise-eliminations-dislike-show

'Dancing With the Stars': Maksim Chmerkovskiy back for plugged/unplugged semifinals

Hunky professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy left "Dancing With the Stars" earlier this year to pursue other projects, but Monday, Nov. 18 he'll be back in the ballroom -- as a guest judge. ABC has announced that Maks will sit with Carrie Ann, Lee and Bruno at the judges' table for the first ever plugged/unplugged night for the Season 17 semifinals. What that means is that the couples must perform two versions of the same song -- one plugged, one unplugged. The first round will feature either a jazz, paso doble, cha cha or tango routine to the plugged version of the song, then the second round will feature either a Viennese waltz, Argentine tango or rumba routine to the unplugged version of the song. There are five couples left for the semifinals -- celebrities Corbin Bleu, Bill Engvall, Jack Osbourne, Leah Remini and Amber Riley. Who do you think will take home the mirror ball... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/11/dancing-with-the-stars-maksim-chmerkovskiy-back-for-pluggedunplugged-semifinals.html

Dancing With the Stars 2013: Is Corbin Bleu's Experience Unfair?

Season 17 is far from the first time Dancing With the Stars has featured stars with prior dance experience, but Corbin Bleu arguably takes "prior dance experience" to a whole new level. He's not only famous for a part that involved a lot of dancing — we're talking about his role in the High School Musical movies for those who missed out on that Disney craze — but he was actually featured in a DWTS Macy's Stars of Dance performace (remember those? Oh, Results Shows, how we miss you). Like,... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/izn_b4Wrc_o/2013-11-13-is-corbin-bleus-experience-unfair

Dancing With the Stars 2013: Was Elizabeth Berkley's Elimination Unfair?

Dancing With the Stars 2013: Was Elizabeth Berkley's Elimination Unfair? Talk about a shocking elimination! Just minutes after scoring a perfect 30 on her Week 9 Trio Salsa, Elizabeth Berkley was cut from Dancing With the Stars Season 17. Was this unexpected elimination fair, or a total miscarriage of dancing justice? There's no question that, based on dance skill alone, Elizabeth should still be in the competition. She was second on the leaderboard last night, and even the 8 she got for her... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/EJJ8ghW5R0g/2013-11-12-was-elizabeth-berkleys-elimination-unfair

'Dancing with the Stars' results: Who was the surprise elimination?

"Dancing with the Stars" week 9 had the strangest results yet. Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy were eliminated from the competition. Considering that the couple had the second-highest scores of the night, as well as a full season of high-quality dancing, this was indeed a shocker.Even weirder: Bill Engvall and Emma Slater are still in the competition.Up until the last moments of the episode, no one would have ever suspected that Elizabeth and Val would be the ones to go. In their first dance of the night, a Viennese waltz, the couple stumbled ever so slightly and earned 26 points out of 30.But everything was perfect when the pair worked with Gleb Savchenko for a salsa trio. Rave reviews from the judges led to the second perfect score of the night (Corbin and Karina had the other one).Apparently, perfect scores aren't always enough. When it came time to announce the week 9 results, Elizabeth... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/11/dancing-with-the-stars-results-elizabeth-berkley-eliminated-in-upset.html

Dancing With the Stars Season 17, Week 9: Corbin Bleu, Karina Smirnoff, and Witney Carson's Trio Jazz

On Dancing With the Stars Season 17, Week 9, Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff were joined by Witney Carson for a Trio Jazz. Their rehearsal seemed like a ton of fun. They're doing a Fosse-esque, avant-garde Jazz. This is a style Corbin knows, so he should be good. He even contributed choreography ideas! The problem was, with three different minds working, there were maybe too many ideas. The result is a really freaking great dance. Is it fair that Corbin knows this style so well he could help... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/hj1aWASRZeM/2013-11-11-season-17-week-9-corbin-1

Dancing With the Stars Season 17, Week 9: Amber Riley, Derek Hough, and Mark Ballas's Trio Salsa

On Dancing With the Stars Season 17, Week 9, Amber Riley and Derek Hough were joined by Mark Ballas for a Trio Salsa. In the video package, Mark complimented Amber for being a quick learner. Amber said she was very confused by having two teachers at first. Derek said that the goal was for he and Mark to be like Amber's backup dancers. "Eat your heart out, America," Amber said, after explaining that lots of women would kill to dance with one of these guys, let alone two. Amber looked hot hot... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/tGZiJKC24EM/2013-11-11-season-17-week-9-amber-1

Dancing With the Stars Season 17, Week 9: Leah Remini, Tony Dovolani, and Henry Byalikov's Trio Jive

On Dancing With the Stars Season 17, Week 9, Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani were joined by Henry Byalikov for a Trio Jive. For their dance, they decided to play the judges, which was Leah's idea. They were dancing to "We're Not Gonna Take It," and the point was to show what the judges must be thinking when the audience yells at them all the time. The result was a very, very fun dance. There was a lot of attitude and personality, and Leah looked really confident, and moved between her two... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/ps0PTCxvpjY/2013-11-11-leah-tony-trio-jive-video
