Dark Matter is not a bad show per say, its just the whole entire time i was saying to myself, this is a bad, dumb-bed down, cheap imitation of firefly with special effects that look like they were made in the mid to late 90s. I dont know how syfy can justify footing the bill for this and cancel a genuinely good show like Ascension. At least firefly had a good sense of humor, this show every single character might as well be a robot for the amount of personality they have, and the personality that they do have is solely the stardard A-typical bs, the "badass type 1 personality guy, the caring guy, the ill die for everyone guy, the child who knows stuff they shouldn't, the silent honor bound guy, the leader" i mean really i feel as though a two year old wrote this story, its not the actors fault its the writers and producers. This is a generic story with generic characters who we've all seen many many many times before done in much better light. If this is what syfy meant when they said they were going back to their roots and doing true scifi again, i think they should go back and watch TRUE scifi, Stargate SG-1 Star Trek Battlestar Galactica Firefly FarScape Sliders Andromeda Seven Days and give it another try.
