Jordana Spiro Cast on Dexter As...

Dexter won't be an all-boys club this season, and that's because the star of My Boys is headed to Showtime. Jordana Spiro will appear on multiple episodes of the drama as someone TV Line describes as an "acolyte" of Colin Hanks’ Travis and Edward James Olmos’ Professor Gellar, the latter of whom is the season's big bad, a remorseless, unusual serial killer. Spiro most recently stopped by Harry’s Law and won't show up on Dexter until late in Season 6, which debuts on Sunday, October 2. //www.tvfanatic.com/2011/08/jordana-spiro-cast-on-dexter-as/

'Dexter' Season 6: "The avenging angel returns" in new poster

We've known for awhile that "Dexter" Season 6 was going to have a religious focus. The show is welcoming recurring guest stars Mos Def as Brother Sam and Edward James Olmos as a religious studies professor. The extended preview released at Comic-Con featured a lot of religious imagery and was set to the Marilyn Manson version of Depeche Mode's 1989 hit "Personal Jesus." And now we have the newest key art for the upcoming season - a poster of Dexter (Michael C. Hall) sporting blood spatter wings that says, "The avenging angel returns."Other guest stars include Colin Hanks and Brea Grant as lab assistants working for Masuka. Grant tells Zap2it she's Masuka's "perfect match." We can't wait. Dexter Season 6: Religion Kills, Thanks to Edward James Olmos, Colin Hanks (VIDEO)

We've already seen the first trailer for Season 6 of Dexter, but now Showtime's released a behind-the-scenes video that gives us more insight into what's in store for the new season. The action will skip ahead a year, giving our fateful forensic expert/murderer/hero some time to heal from the losses of Rita and separation from Lumen. The new season appears to be filled with religious overtones. Edward James Olmos plays a twisted religion professor who's recruited his student Colin Hanks to help him carry out divinely-justified murders. At the same time, Dexter is struggling with how to teach his son Harry about god, which as you might imagine, is a bit awkward for a sociopath who justifies killing with a code of his own. When Showtime's Dexter returns October 2, Dexter's dual personas as daddy and serial killer will exist side by side after he moves back to his old apartment complex. Dexter to Make Like The Da Vinci Code

As has been made evident via multiple quotes, teasers and videos, season six of Dexter will tackle the issue of faith and religion. But, no, Showtime President Mark Nevins joked today at the Television Critics Association press tour: "Jesus will not be on Dexter this year." Instead, Dexter Morgan will wrestle with the question "what does it mean to raise a child given the Dark Passenger I’m carrying around with me?" Nevis said, while saying he'd find clues of a large criminal story that involves Colin Hanks and Edward James Olmos. Read More... //www.tvfanatic.com/2011/08/dexter-to-make-like-the-da-vinci-code/
