Showtime Unleashes Revealing New Dexter Trailer

Showtime has blessed us with an extended preview of Dexter season 7 that gives us the first really well defined look at the new Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) dynamic.  If you had any thoughts that Deb's bro-crush was going to lead her to willingly cover up his activities, man were you wrong.  It's plain that Deb is basically heading to a breakdown, and the situation will simply get worse and worse as the season goes on. One of the most compelling plot points is the discovery of one of Dexter 's blood slides at the burnt out church.  This could indicate that Dexter is revealed as the Bay Harbor Butcher very early on.  I kind of love that because it says that the Dexter writers are not afraid to have Deb dealing with the Dark Passenger from the very beginning.  No B.S. Dexter excuse is going to hold up for long, Deb will spend a significant amount of time this season knowing that her brother didn't just 'snap' as he claims, he is a serial killer. 'Dexter' spoilers: Season 7 poster and pictures -- see Yvonne Strahovski and the new big bads

When "Dexter" returns for its seventh season Sept. 30, everything -- not just Dexter's (Michael C. Hall) victims -- is "on the table." Showtime's new "He Saw, She Saw" promo highlights the series' epic game-changer: Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) now knows her brother is a killer -- and a serial one at that. Other new photos offer a glimpse at the season's new villains, Isaak Sirko (Ray Stevenson) and George Novikov (Jason Gedrick), and Yvonne Strahovski's third-episode debut as Hannah McKay. "It's safe to say that Hannah McKay has a dark past that is slowly revealed as the episodes go on, and she holds some secrets," Strahovski said. "She meets Dexter because she's helping the Miami Police Department to solve a case that's been around for a while." Stevenson "brings a real gravity, weight [and] complexity," Hall said. "He's playing a character who certainly has his darkness but also his uniqueness and nuance. And he manages... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/08/dexter-spoilers-season-7-poster-and-pictures----see-yvonne-strahovski-and-the-new-big-bads.html

'Dexter' star James Remar on Season 7 and 'Django Unchained'

"Dexter" star James Remar calls the relationship between Deb Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) and her adoptive brother/would-be-lover Dexter (Michael C. Hall) a "runaway train." And he tells fans to hold tight to see where it leads. "You know, the best way I can speak to it is to encourage everyone to watch it because we're coming to a conclusion here. So all the stuff that's been cooking the past seven years is going to come to a head," he says. "It's all being really well addressed. It's all being looked at. We're not leaving any gaps. So their relationship is being tested. It's being bent and changed as is their personal moral conduct. It's really a runaway train at this point. It's heading down the tracks."Zap2it chatted with Remar at the 38th Annual Saturn Awards, where he was honored with the Life Career Award on July 26. On the Showtime series, Remar plays Dexter's dead father... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/07/dexters-james-remar-on-season-7-and-django-unchained.html

'Dexter': Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter talk brother-sister romance

In the last moments of "Dexter's" sixth season, Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) discovered her brother is a killer. So how will this affect her romantic feelings for Dexter (Michael C. Hall)? "The fact that she had some sort of softening in terms of her conception of her relationship to her brother probably makes her prepared to struggle with the information in a way that she wouldn't have otherwise been," Hall tells Zap2it. "She's not ready to embrace him with open arms and say, 'Oh, I love you, it's OK,' but I think she's probably more open to the notion of trying to accept it or understand it." Carpenter insists Deb's infatuation with her brother was present from "Dexter's" first season. "When we started the show, I decided that Michael's just so charming and handsome...that's going to be a terribly hard thing to ignore." (In fact, the actors were married for three years.) "So I thought, maybe... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/07/dexter-michael-c-hall-and-jennifer-carpenter-talk-brother-sister-romance.html

Dexter: Now That Deb Knows, It's the Beginning of the End

Now that Deb knows her brother's big secret on Dexter — that Michael C. Hall 's titular character is a serial-killing blood spatter analyst — it's the beginning of the end for the Showtime series. At Monday's Television Critics Association fall TV previews, Hall reiterated what executive producer Sara Colleton told TVGuide.com earlier this summer: The eighth season of Dexter will be its last. (Earlier in the day, Showtime chief David Nevins insisted there was still a possibility of the series carrying on.)
