Doctor Who 8.06 Review: The Caretaker

This week’s episode of  Doctor Who  is one that I have very mixed feelings towards because while I enjoyed a lot of aspects with it, I also got irritated at certain points. Let’s start with the positive: the idea of the Doctor pretending to be a caretaker at a school is one of the best ideas ever because you know that nothing that he will do is going to be normal. But the genius thing about this episode was that it wasn’t really about him, it was more about Clara and her trying to handle her double life. The monster of the week was a Skovox Blitzer and even though this isn’t one of the scariest things that we have seen on  Doctor Who , I was still terrified. It was mostly because it moved so fast and aggressive even though look-wise, it shouldn’t be able to move at that speed. Maybe it’s just me who gets scared easily, but it was just so hard to see that thing in action. Read more... //www.tvovermind.com/reviews/doctor-8-06-review-caretaker-241143

Doctor Who Season 8 Episode 6 Review: The Caretaker

By way of a very convenient alien who chose the Coal Hill School to do his dastardly deeds, The Doctor and Danny Pink finally met in  Doctor Who Season 8 Episode 6 . It was impossible to imagine how the meeting would go down, especially give The Doctor's new-found disdain for soldiers during  Doctor Who Season 8 .  It was very refreshing that Danny took the upper hand during the meeting and in the end we understand a bit more about all three players.   Read More... //www.tvfanatic.com/2014/09/doctor-who-season-8-episode-6-review-the-caretaker/

Love her or hate her, Clara was always a companion whose very introduction made character growth problematic. With the second half of Season 7's central plot primarily hung around the mystery of her 'Manic timey-wimey-flirty-reincarnating pixie girl' schtick, and the subsequent mega-specials spent reacting to all manner of 50th Anniversary breakneck revelations, it was sometimes hard to see the companion behind the kerfuffle.  Read More... //www.ign.com/articles/2014/09/27/doctor-who-the-caretaker-review

Doctor Who Recap: Come And Knock On Our Door

However you might react to The Caretaker, hopefully everyone will at least agree that, given the setup of the season so far, its a story that needed to be told, and halfway through the season seems a good time to tell it. Weve been frustratingly teased with the Doctor/Clara/Danny triangle for the past four episodes, curious to know where its headed. Where opinions will differ, I imagine, is over the manner in which the story is told.   Read More... //www.vulture.com/2014/09/doctor-who-recap-season-8-episode-6.html

With This Episode, Doctor Who Season 8 Starts To Pay Off, Big Time

"The Caretaker" is my favorite episode of the Peter Capaldi era of Doctor Who thus far. And it's also probably going to turn out to be the episode where this season really "clicks" for me. Really great stuff, that puts the Doctor on the spot in a way we've never seen before.
