'Haven' casts 'Eureka' star Colin Ferguson for upcoming Season 4

When "Haven" returns to Syfy with new Season 4 episodes in October 2013, there will be at least one new actor making trouble: Colin Ferguson, the former star of "Eureka," has been cast on this show about a strange small town in Maine.Ferguson, who played Sheriff Jack Carter over five seasons of "Eureka" before the series was canceled in 2012, will play a character named William on "Haven." Six months after the events that ended Season 3, this mysterious stranger will show up in the town of Haven. Whatever William's secret agenda may be, it leads him straight to Audrey Parker (Emily Rose).Considering that we last saw Audrey disappearing into a magic barn (along with Duke (Eric Balfour) and a few others), the casting does at least indicate that the show's mystery woman will soon be returning. This is good news for Nathan (Lucas Bryant), left behind and injured when the others disappeared. The casting... //

'Eureka' series finale postmortem with showrunner Jaime Paglia: We made it 'a celebration instead of a funeral'

"Eureka" ended its five-season, seven-year run on Syfy with a poignant and satisfying series finale...that almost never happened. In the wake of the its abrupt cancellation, it seemed "Eureka" would be forced to bow out with a cliffhanger -- until Syfy granted showrunner Jaime Paglia's request for one more episode. With one caveat: The "Eureka" crew had one week -- instead of the usual two months -- to write it. "We broke the story in two days, I wrote it in three days over the weekend, and then we had three days to prep it," Paglia revealed to Zap2it. At the time, he said, "I told everybody, 'Let's try to look at the positive side of this: We were given a chance by the network and studio to wrap this up on our terms. So let's go into this last episode as positively as we can and really make it a celebration instead of a funeral.'"The... //

'Eureka' series finale: 5 things to watch out for in the farewell episode

It's time to say goobye to "Eureka." Syfy's delightful show -- about a secret high-tech town of barmy brainiacs and a sensible sheriff who comes to the rescue when the scientists' experiments go horribly wrong -- ends its five-season run tonight. Know this: Showrunner Jaime Paglia and his team pulled off a major coup with "Eureka's" series finale, which they essentially produced in a single week. Why the time crunch? Last August, days after Syfy announced the show was being renewed for a six-episode sixth season, producers were told that its fifth season would be its last. Fortunately, the network granted Paglia's request for an extra episode to give the series the sendoff its fans deserved. And the finale, "Just Another Day," does not disappoint. It is packed with Easter eggs, special guest stars and callbacks to pivotal moments in the show. Here a few things to watch out for on Monday (July 16) night:Special... //
