Glee: "Audition" Review

It might have been a good thing that Glee didn't bring home every Emmy it was nominated for in its inaugural year. The series is already flirting with over-exposure and more gold might have just sent things over the edge. That said, the series isn't blind to the growing Glee backlash-- not all of us are "Gleeks." With the premiere episode of season two, the series addressed some of the haters and put the series back onto a familiar course. Annoying blogger Jacob opened the episode with his recap of Glee Club's "Big Gay Summer." This was the perfect way to start things off, giving us an update on what people did over the summer (Brittany: "People think I went on vacation, but I was lost in the sewers.") and where things stand now. But more importantly, it let us mock Glee the series a bit as Jacob mocked the club. His complaints were some that the public at large shares, like the song selections and use of AutoTune. I was especially on his side when he talked about the forum on his blog with people begging Will Schuester to stop rapping. This was a smart way to kick things off. It brought the program down a few pegs from all the high praise its received and reminded us that the series is just a TV show after all. To Read More Click Here . 'Glee' Season 2 Premiere Recap: New Characters, Same Directions

GLEEEEEEEEEEE! They're back! All our old friends who we haven't seen for so very long! If you think I'm joking about how much I missed Glee, you should probably just take your juicy, vine-ripened chest fruit and get the hell out of my office. Because we've got some serious catching up and recapping to do, and I don't want the deafening sounds of your stretch marks distracting anyone from the glory that is the return of our favorite teen musical dramedy. So let's get up in the Panther's business, lady. Jewish blogger Jacob uses his big Jewish microphone to catch us up on what happened during all the different Glee clubbers' "Big Gay Summer." 'Glee' recap: Let's Hear It for New Dorks Season 2, Episode 1

If the season two premiere is any indication, we're in for a great year. The opening sequence, which incorporated winking responses to real-life rumors as well as critical jabs at the show (Jacob to Will: "When exactly did you ink your sponsorship with Land's End?"), was was laugh-out-loud funny and a positive sign that there will be no sophomore slump for Glee. That said, Jacob’s point about Will rapping also applies to the New Directions kids. Yeah, I enjoyed "Empire State of Mind" - more on that in a minute - but generally speaking, these kids aren't exactly channeling Jay-Z or Nicki Minaj. Their forays into serious hip-hop just feel awkward. To Read More Click Here . If You Missed This Episode Watch It Here Online Now

GLEE ''Audition'' Season 2 Premiere Advance Review

Gleeks, I hope you're ready for all new episodes of GLEE! I was lucky enough to preview the season premiere, Audition, and I think they kick off season 2 as only Glee can. The episode is packed with performances, dramatic new rivalries, some priceless zingers from Sue Sylvester, and Mike Chang's abs. Without giving too much away, let me tell you what I can about the season 2 premiere. The episode gets off to a hilarious start thanks to Jacob, as he catches us up on what the New Directions members have been doing over the summer. His intro is full of inside jokes and nudge nudge, wink winks at the audience (am I the ONLY one who loves it when Mr. Schue raps?). One thing the episode makes clear is that, even though the members of New Directions have more confidence in themselves, the rest of the school still thinks they're major losers. This is a problem because they need to recruit some new members if they want to compete with Vocal Adrenalin and make it to Nationals, which will be held in New York. To Read More Click Here .
