Recap: 'Glee' Takes An 'Original Song' To Regionals

Coach "World Wide Sue" is all over this episode, thank heavens, and she’s great right out of the gate when she tells Mr. Schue she’s gotten My Chemical Romance to say no to the rights to the song he had his heart set on for the clubs ‘showstopper’ at Regionals.  It seems she slept with the drummer. Although it later turns out that she forged the ‘cease and desist’ order, and actually slept with the drummer from Jimmy Eat World. But that’s later. With little time remaining, Mr. Schue takes a chance and lets the gang try writing an original song … with mixed success.    Rachel’s follow up to "My Headband," "Only Child," was all about Rachel, of course. "Trouty Mouth," written about Sam by Santana, featured lyrics like "Trouty mouth, grouper mouth, froggy lips … " Puck wrote a love song for Lauren called "Big Ass … Heart." A psalm to overeating ... it had a good beat but… ‘nuff said. Only Mercedes’ sassy "Hell to the No" upped the ante. Maybe the  Glee  Club had a chance after all! 'Glee' Recap: 'Original Song'

Let's just say it, Gleeks. The thing so many excited "Glee" fans screamed from the virtual rooftop as they jumped on their Facebook and Twitter pages the moment it happened: THEY FINALLY KISSED! Yes, after weeks of wishing and hoping and waiting, Kurt and Blaine finally locked lips. It was a sweet, real and, shockingly, un-hyped moment (good call, Ryan Murphy, on keeping this one under wraps) that Chris Colfer and Darren Criss handled with dignity and honesty, and let's face it, some serious heat! When Blaine tearfully told Kurt, "You move me," we all swooned (and, okay, cried a little too.) But, there's plenty more where that kiss came from. Kurt and Blaine and the Warblers had quite a few things going on during this week's episode. In addition to Kurt accidentally killing the group's beloved canary Pavarotti (pro: Chris' lovely rendition of The Beatles' "Blackbird," con: deceased mascot), they were also gearing up for Regionals. 'Glee' recap: They kissed. Everyone won.

We knew it was going to happen eventually, but anticipation is not nearly as exciting as actually seeing a monumental moment. Now, I could be talking about two big moments here, and honestly, I'm talking about both -- the kiss between Kurt and Blaine and the advancement of New Directions to Nationals. Clearly, it was a big episode. So let's just get right into it. We opened the episode at Dalton Academy, where the gang were putting the final touches on their Regionals programming, which was a little Blaine-heavy for Kurt’s liking. But judging by Blaine’s not-so-favorable response, Kurt had lifted the Burberry birdcage cover on a sensitive issue. Back at McKinley, Rachel found herself still struggling to write a personal song that had mass appeal -- and she was finding little success, especially since she appeared to be the sole berry on her tree of ambition. In a shocking moment of wisdom, Finn suggested that she dig deeper because she was dealing only with the "easy pain." Read More... //tvrecaps.ew.com/recap/glee-season-2-episode-16-regionals/

Kurt and Blaine Kiss! Recap of Glee Season 2, Episode 16: "Original Song"

Blaine and Kurt are officially an item! Hooray! Of course, on this show, we assume that they’ll have broken up and gotten back together about six separate times before next week’s episode rolls around. The episode, entitled "Original Song" (Is it just us, or are these episode titles just getting more and more creative?) kicks off with Kurt complaining that Blaine gets too many solos. Of course, if you ask us, that’s like complaining when the counter person at Ben & Jerry’s makes... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/IAin-VtuWv0/kurt-and-blaine-kiss-recap-of-glee-season-2-episode-16-original-song

'Glee': Are Finn and Rachel getting back together? Plus, Kurt and Blaine finally have their moment

Time for a "Glee" relationship status update! In short: It's complicated.Let's talk about our Dalton boys first. In tonight's Regionals episode, "Original Song," a death in the Warblers family (the canary) moved Kurt (Chris Colfer) to sing "Blackbird." The song, in turn, moved Blaine (Darren Criss) to... well, make out with Kurt. "Kurt," Blaine said, "There is a moment when you say to yourself, 'Oh. There you are. I've been looking for you forever.' Watching you do 'Blackbird' this week, that was a moment for me. About you. You move me, Kurt."We died of adorable overload. In other relationship news, the Quinn/Finn/Rachel triangle gets more triangley every day. Quinn staked her claim on our favorite autotuned quarterback in one of Dianna Agron's best scenes this season. The thing is, we're pretty sure that Quinn doesn't love him as much as she loves the Prom Queen crown that he could put on her head. (Speaking of which, what happened to... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2011/03/glee-are-finn-and-rachel-getting-back-together-plus-kurt-and-blaine-finally-have-their-moment.html

'Glee' Recap: 'Original Song' Is Music to Gleeks' Ears

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Glee writers. Glee just gave us, the fans, a big comforting hug in the form of tonight's "Original Song," reminding us what made us love the show in the first place. I was worried that last week's return to season 1 form may have just been a fluke, but after two good episodes in a row, my hopes are definitely up. And, seeing as the show's taking a little hiatus till April, the reassurance couldn't have come at a better time.  Now let's get to Glee -capping ... //www.buddytv.com/articles/glee/glee-recap-original-song-39689.aspx

Glee Review: Winners Like Them

I knew we were in for a solid Glee episode when it kicked off with a song ("Misery") and then instantly addressed a long-running beef I've had with one aspect of the show: Why the heck does Blaine get every single Warbers solo? From there, "Original Song" delivered one winning performance after another, focused on actual relationship and character developments and proved one indisputable fact: my goodness, Lea Michele can sing. 'Glee' Season 2, Episode 16 Recap

'Glee' should have original songs more often. I say this knowing full well that this is next to impossible to accomplish. Over 100 songs have to be incorporated into a typical 22-episode season, and it's just impossible to write original songs for all of those episodes. If that were to happen, you'd inevitably get songs closer in quality to 'My Headband' than to 'Get It Right.' But what the original songs did was give this episode a cohesion that we haven't seen in a 'Glee' episode in quite a while. For the first time in a long time, the songs actually carried the story forward instead of grinding it to a halt. And, at least in the case of the songs New Directions sang at regionals, they were pretty good, to boot.  Read More... //www.tvsquad.com/2011/03/15/glee-season-2-episode-16-recap/
