'Glee' Recap: 'Props/Nationals'

So. Much. Glee. Last night’s two-hour, double episode was like a " Glee " movie, and just like "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie," it was light on plot but full of memorable moments. As New Directions prepares for Nationals, Sue is worried that Vocal Adrenaline can’t be beat now that they have the extraordinarily talented, cross-dressing Unique. To compensate, she tries to coerce Kurt into wearing a dress. While he refuses, this does lead to a hilarious Kurt/Blaine flashback to Halloween, when they dressed up as Snooki and The Situation, respectively. Love it! Still pining over her failed NYADA audition, Rachel leaves judge Carmen Tibideaux a 15th voicemail asking for another chance. Glee Recap: Leg Warmers and Massive Arcs of Fire

Something I learned from watching the Glee cast's appearance on Inside the Actors Studio (aside from how deeply disquieting it is to watch Matthew Morrison break-dance ) is that Ryan Murphy uses his scripts to communicate with his actors — Jane Lynch claims that she's able to tell whom Murphy's mad at just by reading that week's script. One wonders, then, what message Murphy was trying to send the cast (who'll be back for next year's show-on-top-of-a show) by putting together an hour of television that constantly reiterated the importance of realizing you're not all that special and totally being okay with that. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Straight off: I love that Tina has been so underutilized that they needed to explain who she is and how long she's been around in the "previously on" montage, and I love how three years' worth of rejection are effectively encapsulated in less than a minute. I also love how a few minutes later, there's a shot of Rachel singing the lyric "when I look into your eyes" to her own reflection . I'm not sure if this was an intentional reminder of how awful Rachel can be, but it definitely ensured that I was squarely on Tina's side when she flipped out in the choir room. When Mike stormed out behind her, though, did anyone feel like the black shirt and fedora combination aged him ten or twelve years? 'Glee' Recap: We Are The Champions

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 3, Episodes 20 and 21 of Fox's "Glee," entitled "Props" and "Nationals," respectively. " Glee " has never been perfect. In fact, this season, it's been far from it. But just when you count them out, the New Directions have a way of winning you over again. Ladies and gentlemen, I think I'm a gleek again. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much from the first hour of "Glee's" two-hour event, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the much-talked about role reversals were barely a fraction of the episode. I'm not saying that it wasn't fun to see Finn rock Kurt's stylish cape collection, and to see Tina put on a pait of knee-high socks and belt out one of my favorite Celine Dion songs, but I was glad that segment only lasted a mere 10 minutes. I don't think I could have taken anymore of Kurt's creepy Finn. Read More... //feeds.huffingtonpost.com/~r/HP/Entertainment/~3/ZCENS35sZrk/glee-recap-nationals_b_1519702.html

'Glee' Recap: Everybody Gets a Chance to Shine

Do you know how I've complained for about two entire seasons how Glee takes itself way too seriously and isn't fun or good anymore? Well, "Props" is the answer to my prayers. It's easily my favorite episode of the past two seasons, and quite possibly one of the best episodes the show has ever made. //www.buddytv.com/articles/glee/glee-recap-everybody-gets-a-ch-45687.aspx

Glee Review for Season 3, Episodes 20 and 21: What Did You Think of “Props” and “Nationals”?

We’d call it a Glee overload — but that might imply there was too much Glee. Obviously, there can be no such thing! Tonight’s lineup featured not one, but two all-new episodes. First, at 8pm, the New Directions prepped for the National show choir competition in Chicago during Season 3, Episode 20: "Props," and an unfortunate mishap for Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) at a mall lead to some very wacky and unexpected consequences! Then at 9pm, Glee continued with Season 3,... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/kMl__Hby4hQ/glee-review-for-season-3-episodes-20-and-21-what-did-you-think-of-props-and-nationals
