Gossip Girl Recap: You Can Always Be Your True Self With Us

Despite his recent trip to Italy, which faces real problems, Princth Louis was still twitchy upon his return to the Upper East Side over the goings-on among New York City’s leisure class. He’d barely put down his conciliatory gift to Blair and finished claiming to be a better man before declaring, in the grand tradition of overly possessive ex-boyfriends, his belief that her friends were not looking out for her besth interesths. Au contraire, mon frere. Last night, the scheming and plotting was left to the outsiders as many of the characters bestowed kindnesses on one another: Serena orchestrated a Tiffany’s themed "shower" for Blair, and even roped her minions into containing the surprise. When Dan grew despondent over his outsider status, Chuck shared with him his wisdom, his pot, and even his hookers, proving that Lonely Boy is not so much of an outsider after all. Even tooth-baring cougaress Elizabeth Hurley showed a softer side: The Maude to Nate’s Harold, she sacrificed herself so that Nate might live on, unencumbered, in this case by a terrible secret that would blow his pure and honest mind. (She’s actually a man and having a gay affair with his grandfather? Just a guess.)  Read More... //nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/11/gossip-girl-gossip-girl-recap-you-can-always-be-your-true-self-with-us.html

'Gossip Girl' Recap: Shower of Dirt

This week on Gossip Girl , Louis tries desperately to prove to Blair that her friends are horrible people while the members of the Non-Judgmental Breakfast Club try desperately to save her wedding shower. As if we didn't have enough reasons to hate Prince Louis, what with him breaking up our favorite couples, his one stern facial expression and his undecipherable lisping accent this episode sealed our hatred forever. You can mess with Blair and Chuck (or Blair and Dan, if that is your thing) but you cannot mess with Blair and Serena. How dare you sir! Thankfully, the true love shared by our favorite foursome won out in the end, just like every love story between a group of dysfunctional rich snobs. Nate breaks up with Diana because he thinks she outted all his friends, Chuck dives into the shark-infested waters of Blair's wedding shower to pull out a drunk-as-a-fish Daniel Humphrey and Serena might send thousands of Gossip Girl tips but she also throws one hell of a Breakfast at Tiffany's themed party. Gossip Girl Review: Sources of Evil

Now that's more like it. After such a mediocre installment last week, " All The Pretty Sources " met all the criteria for a solid Gossip Girl episode. It focused on the core cast members, advanced the storyline, and was entertaining as heck. Sounds like a simple formula, but the show has been known to deviate from it as we know. Tonight our favorite characters were in rare form, and even the supporting players brought something to the table. The episode also managed to tie all the storylines together in a way that flowed nicely and didn't feel totally forced, like throwing everyone together at a party out of the blue ... which did sort of happen. B's shower was where the tension boiled over, but it did so (relatively) believably and scandalously for all. The big winners? Chuck, Nate, Nlair and Serena. The losers? Louis, Ivy, Diana and Gossip Girl. As for Dan, that's a tough call. Maybe he won't even remember what happened ... //www.tvfanatic.com/2011/11/gossip-girl-review-all-the-pretty-sources/

Gossip Girl Review: What Did You Think of Season 5, Episode 8: “All The Pretty Sources”?

So many juicy things happened in tonight’s Gossip Girl Season 5, Episode 8: "All The Pretty Sources." Serena (Blake Lively) threw Blair (Leighton Meester) a bridal shower to remember. Dan (Penn Badgley) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) weren’t invited to the bash, but took the opportunity to go a little crazy on their own! We’re dying to find out what you thought of the episode. Was it the best Gossip Girl ever — or did you feel like something was still lacking?... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/hJoSumJvU7g/gossip-girl-review-what-did-you-think-of-season-5-episode-8-all-the-pretty-sources

Blair and Louis Have a Huge Fight! Gossip Girl Recap of Season 5, Episode 8: “All the Pretty Sources”

It’s Blair’s (Leighton Meester) bridal shower day! Which everyone is unreasonably excited about, as though wedding showers were real events, and not just uncomfortable gift grabs where people embarrass the bride with sex toys and make toilet paper wedding gowns! Whatever.Louis (Hugo Becker) returns, bearing gifts and suitably penitent — for about five seconds, until he decides that all of their relationship problems stem from her friends selling them out. Girl, please. You think... //feeds.wetpaint.com/~r/wetpaint/latest/excerpt/~3/6XOrW3EKznU/dans-in-love-with-blair-gossip-girl-recap-of-season-5-episode-8-all-the-pretty-sources

'Gossip Girl' Season 5, Episode 8 Recap: Top 5 OMG Moments

['Gossip Girl' - 'All the Pretty Sources'] No-one throws a soiree like Serena van der Woodsen, but it wouldn't be an Upper East Side shindig without a healthy heaping of scandal. This week's 'Gossip Girl' once again brought all of our favorites together, but despite the verbal fireworks, it still felt like a spark was missing (perhaps because so much time was spent on Chivy and her snoozeworthy boy drama). Still, some progress was made between Blair and Louis, and Queen B's dashing prince is turning out to be a right royal pain; when he was being sweet, he was simply dull, but now that he's trying to scheme, he's just plain irritating. Alas, we've been promised a royal wedding, so we sadly haven't seen the last of Louis yet, but it looks like we might get a break from Elizabeth Hurley's scenery chewing, after Diana's reluctant exit ... Join us after the jump for our five favorite moments from this week's episode. //www.aoltv.com/2011/11/21/gossip-girl-season-5-episode-8-recap/

‘Gossip Girl’ Season 5, Episode 8, ‘All The Pretty Sources’: TV Recap

OK, how much do we all hate baby showers? The ridiculous humiliating games. The stupid ooohhh and ahhhh over breast pumps. The endless talk about personal details we don’t want to know about. Let’s hope there’s some decent cake and bagels at Blair’s co-ed baby shower on tonight’s Gossip Girl. Prince Humperdink brings Blair some perfume and says he’s a better man. Then he immediately tells Blair that her friends are really enemies and that she should distance herself from them. Nate brings his grandfather in to meet his slutty boss, Liz Hurley. They pretend they don’t know each other. We really like Liz Hurley’s teal dress. We love a wrap dress. Grandpa tells Liz to hand over the Spectator (which he apparently mostly owns) to Nate. GOSSIP GIRL “All the Pretty Sources” Review

GOSSIP GIRL  "All the Pretty Sources" Season 5 Episode 8 – We bid a not-so-fond farewell to Diana in "All the Pretty Sources," this week’s  Gossip Girl , and it says a lot for the quality of the episode that it wasn’t even the highlight of the hour. Eight episodes into what has been a mediocre season at best, thanks in no small part to the least-desirable prince in Europe (Seriously! How did they manage to make a fairytale prince so unsexy?!?), Blair’s royal romance is finally starting to unravel. But will this lead her back to  Chuck , as 99.9% of the fan base would like? Because now it seems that Dan is also in love with Ms. Waldorf, only instead of molding himself into the kind of man who deserves her (a la Chuck Bass), he has decided to take the opposite route and turn himself into a drunken fool. Hmm…in three-way choice between a prince (unsexy or not), Chuck Bass or a blathering, washed-up novelist who tried to ride to fame by exposing his only friends to public ridicule, I think we all know who Blair will NOT be choosing.
