'Graceland' premiere: What is Briggs' secret?

The premiere of "Graceland" on USA was filled with secrets, lies, drugs, violence and police work. But the one mystery that truly stood out was the one surrounding FBI Special Agent Paul Briggs (Daniel Sunjata). What is his big secret? And is Mike Warren (Aaron Tveit) going to find it out?The plot"Graceland" begins with the arrival of rookie FBI agent Mike. Seemingly wide-eyed and clueless upon arrival, Mike's intelligence (he was at the top of his class at the academy) quickly becomes apparent to all those living in Graceland.Who are the residents of the house? In addition to Briggs and Mike, there's the easy-going Johnny (Manny Montana), customs agent Jakes (Brandon Jay McLaren), angry DEA agent Lauren (Scottie Thompson) and motherly undercover superstar Charlie (Vanessa Ferlito).Mike almost immediately gets in over his head when a supposedly simple bit of information-gathering turns ugly. In order to gain information on a drug-dealing gang of Russians that nearly... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/06/graceland-premiere-what-is-briggs-secret.html

USA's 'Graceland': Avoiding politics and swapping Florida for Los Angeles

Once upon a time, the government seized a drug dealer's seaside mansion in Manhattan Beach, an upscale Southern California community just down the coast from Los Angeles. While it has a great beach and lots of surfers, the town lacks the funky vibe of Venice or the celebrity gloss of Malibu, and few people from other parts of the country would recognize its streets or landmarks. That's just as well, because the new USA Network show based on this tale is actually shot in South Florida. (But it does get right the necessity of surfing in wetsuits, as the waters off California are definitely not warm like those in the Sunshine State.)And despite its name, the show is most emphatically not about Elvis.Premiering Thursday, June 6, "Graceland" stars Broadway performer Aaron Tveit ("Les Miserables") as Mike Warren, a recent FBI Academy graduate who finds himself assigned to a multiagency team inhabiting the aforementioned seaside mansion, which takes... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/06/usas-graceland-avoiding-politics-and-swapping-florida-for-los-angeles.html

'Graceland' interview: Vanessa Ferlito on the life of an undercover drug agent

In "Graceland," all of the main characters are undercover agents. But none go more undercover than Charlie DeMarco, played by Vanessa Ferlito ("CSI: NY," "24"). When visiting the show's set, we talked to Ferlito about her role and just how deep Charlie and the others will go into the criminal underworlds they investigate. What attracted you to the role on "Graceland"?Vanessa Ferlito: I automatically thought of reality TV in the sense that -- not comparing the-the writing, it's phenomenal -- but just how you take like seven, six strangers and you put them in a house. That's what intrigues people. That's why people are so drawn to this. It wasn't like a typical procedural. This was more in-depth with the characters and that's what I loved. I loved Charlie and how she was written as a strong and powerful girl in the house with a bunch of boys. And the story was great. The writing... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/06/graceland-interview-vanessa-ferlito-on-the-life-of-an-undercover-drug-agent.html

'Graceland' preview: 5 reasons to watch USA's new, dark drama

"Graceland" isn't your typical "blue-skies" show on USA. The story of undercover federal agents working out of a California beach house is instead a fairly gritty drama involving drugs, murder and deception -- and that's just in the first few minutes.Sure, the show -- which stars Aaron Tveit ("Les Miserables") and Daniel Sunjata ("Rescue Me") -- also features surfing in a beautiful setting, but the waves are not the point. And that's okay. "Graceland" is meant to be somewhat darker than other shows on the cable network. The darker tone works well in this, giving a sense of urgency and foreboding to the character-driven crime drama. This is definitely a show to watch -- here are five reasons (only slightly spoilery) why you should:1. This is not a cheerful, family-friendly show. You should expect more "Breaking Bad" and less "Monk" when watching. Seriously, a character injects himself with heroin and then takes a bullet. And... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/06/graceland-preview-5-reasons-to-watch-usas-new-dark-drama.html
