Highschool DxD New Episode #07 Anime Review

With Kokabiel having been dealt with and a friendly little visit from Azazel who has quite an interest in Issei, and more specifically with the Booster Gear on his arm that has really shown itself well, lately, Highschool DxD New takes a little time to do the other thing it does well beyond story and action. Fanservice. Because of the help that the Occult Research Club has gotten from the student council, Rias has taken on a bit of work for them by offering to clean the school pool top to bottom, with the caveat that they get access to it for awhile afterwards to enjoy the fruits of their labor. That means some really fun fanservice in the changing room, some silly awkwardness amongst the girls – which now includes Xenovia, and a few hour sof hard work. Of course, Issei gets the proper motivation early on with some wonderfully done finger sucking. Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2013/08/23/highschool-dxd-new-episode-07-anime-review/

Highschool DxD New Episode #06 Anime Review

As we hit the halfway mark of the second season of the series, we’re thrown right into a lot of action. The series has never been shy about being about the action and doing it well, with plenty of strong personalities to work it in a way that keeps it engaging. And, of course, it also knows how to throw plenty of fanservice as well. Who can forget the clothes breaker move that Issei created in the first season and used to good effect? He doesn’t get to use that here, but going up against the devil they’re facing now, even the power of the group that Rias has put together doesn’t stop Rias from losing shreds of her clothes along the way and having plenty of sexy poses. But none of it detracts from the fight against the devil they’re facing. Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2013/08/17/highschool-dxd-new-episode-06-anime-review/

Highschool DxD New Episode #05 Anime Review

With the school now protected in a barrier in order to stave off any problems from the outside, the new showdown is getting ready to commence. With the help of Sona and her group to make sure things stick to the status quo, she at least does indicate that there’s a chance that things could go really awry as nothing can be kept truly safe and the whole event could just be a mess. Which is why Akeno does make the push to get help from the big Devil himself with her older brother Zechs in bringing in additional help. That’ll be there in about an hour, which Rias does actually agree to, but does she agree to wait the hour before going in and dealing with what must be dealt with? Highschool DxD Complete Collection Limited Edition Blu-ray Anime Review

A war between heaven and hell is raging on Earth – and a hot mess of hormonal fury is raging in Issei’s pants. The guy is dying to get some action. Which is funny, since his first date ever turns into a winged monster and tries to kill him. Fortunately, ridiculously curvy redhead Rias comes to his rescue. She’s president of The Occult Research Club, a club that doesn’t actually research the occult. They ARE the occult – and Rias is a Devil. Highschool DxD New Episode #04 Anime Review

Now that the Angels and Devils are basically working alongside each other to some degree while trying to figure out what’s going on, it doesn’t take too long for events to ramp up. With the past experience with Riser and what happened with him, it’s actually not too much of a surprise to find someone else trying to do some damage in the same area as we get a devil with an Excalibur weapon all of his very own going wild. There’s a lot of intensity with the fight right from the start, especially as Kiba jumps right into it, which puts both Saji and Issei on the sideline for the moment. Of course, it doesn’t take long for them to get involved, but there’s plenty of danger with it, particularly when Koneko gets to throwing Issei directly at the enemy. Highschool DxD New Episode #03 Anime Review

Highschool DxD New has worked decently to just get right into things with this season rather than spend a lot of its time just goofing around. With the events of the first two episodes, we got a handle on the Holy Swords pretty well and an amusing bit involving the way some of those from the angel’s side have come down to try and make sure that Rias and her group keep from getting involved in the situation. That lead to an agreement of sorts, but it also brought out a bit of a fight that was more intended for fun than anything else. And it is fun as it gets underway and Issei holds his own fairly well as he tries to go with his patented dress breaker attack. Of course, his intended target doesn’t get taken down with it as he overshoots and hits his own side instead, which leads to some comical shredding of clothes that delights the fans. Highschool DxD New Episode #02 Anime Review

The opening episode of the new season didn’t exactly draw me in as much as I would have thought, but I did go in with some lowered expectations with it since second seasons like this don’t always get underway in a strong way. With the time between seasons and some of the enthusiasm reduced, and the less than strong ending sequence, the show just felt like it was trying a bit too hard in some ways. But at the same time, we did get to reconnect with the cast and it was just plain fun to be back with Issei and Asia in particular since there’s just such a fun bond between the two of them that leaves me wanting more. The show did start to lay the foundations of the season though, but that felt just a bit muted in some way. Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2013/07/26/highschool-dxd-new-episode-02-anime-review/

Highschool DxD New Episode #01 Anime Review

The first season of Highschool DxD really worked well for me since it played very, very well with the fanservice and sexuality but was also smart enough to execute a solid storyline. While it had some of the usual trappings, it had the right kind of polish and professionalism about it that made it enjoyable to watch the main story itself and the fanservice and not feel insulted by either. Well, mostly. With the second season of the series, which sadly does not have the most awesome pole dancing ending, we get more of the same. And that’s a fantastic thing since it’s full of nudity with amusing cover-up designs and plenty of other fanservice oriented shots as it introduces us to the story that will be defined here over the course of the season. Highschool DxD Episode #12 Anime Review

With the series drawing to a close, it comes at a difficult time for Issei because of the way the Rating Game played out and how he lost in that. The results of course are not to his liking as Rias is now sworn to Riser and her life is going to take a very different course. The revelation about this as he recovers hits him pretty hard, especially in how Rias surrendered to Rise after what was happening in Issei’s battle since Riser was going to go the distance and kill him. It was a pretty brutal match towards the end of the previous episode, both in seeing Issei’s sense of devotion to Rias and how she dealt with what was happening to him. But now he just has to deal with the fallout as revealed to him by Grayfia. Read More... //www.fandompost.com/2012/03/26/highschool-dxd-episode-12-anime-review/

Highschool DxD Episode #11 Anime Review

Highschool DxD has hit some good levels in the last few episodes, which is on top of an already fun series that has dealt well with actual storylines and not just fanservice as one might believe it to be. With the Rating Game underway and going pretty big rather quickly, it hit some high notes with the revelation we got about Rias and her ancestry and connection and how Koneko got taken down very hard. Issei continues to be the kind of character that’s welcome to have as the male lead in that while he may not have everything together at times, he’s not one to shy away or question what it is he has to do when the chips are down. He knows what’s right and acts on it even with the risk associated with it to himself. And that’s helped to make the others in Rias’ group come to like him more than they may have expected, making it easier for them to support him.
