Suzanne and Phuong Le love living in the Portland, Ore., area and currently have in a cozy two-bedroom, one-bathroom rental. It has served them well in the past, but now they are ready to plant some roots and start a family. The first step toward that end is purchasing their first home. They want the house large enough that they can entertain their extended family, so that means at least three bedrooms and maybe even a bonus room, along with a large kitchen and a substantial yard. They want to stay as close as possible to the Portland area, but are willing to head over to the suburbs if necessary.
