How to Live with Your Parents 1.04 Recap: Betsy the Ghost

Julian is over inspecting the brown stuff underneath Polly's bed (which turns out to be cupcake crumbs and not anything toxic) when Natalie shows him a picture she had been working on. It's of herself, Polly, and Julian at Golden Bear, a place about 100 miles away where they used to go camping. However, since the divorce, they haven't been and Natalie is itching to go. While Polly tries to tell her that the bears took back the park and are currently drinking and eating honey, growling to each other in approval at the recent election results, Julian offers to buy her a plastic bunny that poops jelly beans in hopes of distracting her. 'How To Live With Your Parents (For The Rest Of Your Life)' has a terrible title, but is not a terrible show

Despite its terrible, Twitter-unfriendly title, ABC's "How To Live With Your Parents (For The Rest Of Your Life)" is decidedly not terrible. Premiering Wednesday, April 3 at 9:30 p.m. EST, "How To Live With Your Parents" embraces its stars -- comedy faves Sarah Chalke, Elizabeth Perkins, and Brad Garrett -- and gives them room to do what they do best. Chalke plays Polly, a recently-divorced single mother left with no other choice but to move back in with her quirky, hippie, sexually liberated mother Elaine and stepfather Max. Polly's overprotective, stifling view of parenting is obviously a sharp contrast to Elaine's free-spirited philosophy. In the first episode, Polly leaves her daughter Natalie with her mother when she goes out on her first post-divorce date. Obviously, hijinks ensue. The show isn't breaking new ground anywhere. It feels like a happy medium between "The New Normal" and "Everybody Loves Raymond," but it manages to feel comfortably familiar... //blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2013/04/how-to-live-with-your-parents-for-the-rest-of-your-life-has-a-terrible-title-but-is-not-a-terrible-s.html

'How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)' Review: As Funny as the Title Is Long

Let's get this out of the way first: How to Live with Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life) is a terrible title. It's about seven or eight syllables too long and it doesn't even shorten well (cutting it down to How to Live with Your Parents doesn't sound much better). However, it's a good sign when a horrible title is a show's only real problem. The comedy itself, premiering Wednesday, April 3 at 9:30pm on ABC, is funny and touching with a terrific cast of comedy all-stars. Review: 'How to Live With Your Parents' is a by-the-manual comedy

Sarah Chalke, Elizabeth Perkins, Brad Garrett and Rachel Eggleston star in the ABC sitcom that goes for wacky but relies on tropes. Some fine actors have contracted to appear in "How to Live With Your Parents (For the Rest of Your Life)," a multi-generational family comedy premiering Wednesday night on ABC. It should do their careers no lasting harm. Read More... //feeds.latimes.com/~r/latimes/entertainment/news/tv/~3/81F4Kf_plTk/la-et-st-how-to-live-with-your-parents-abc-review-20130403,0,436198.story
