Street recyclers in West Oakland, Cal., who make cash by collecting trash and selling it to a recycling center, share their stories. One often hauls a ton of material in his cart; another, a former minister, struggles with his fall from grace; and the third, an ex-drummer, endures the elements and predators. She, and the others, also face change: a drop in commodity prices; complaints from the recycling center's neighbors; and the decision by the center's owner to call it quits in August 2016.
