Justified Renewed for a Third Season by FX

Raylan Givens will live on to snark, brood, and shoot, as FX has renewed sophomore drama Justified , according to Deadline. The show had been rumored for several days to be receiving a pick up in time for FX's upfront party, which is happening tonight. The other show rumored to be getting a pick up, Archer , still has yet to be confirmed as being renewed. Based on a story by Elmore Leonard, Justified stars Timothy Olyphant as Raylan Givens, a Deputy U.S. Marshall who is reassigned to his hometown in Kentucky after getting in trouble in Florida. When he gets to Harlan County, he has to deal with his ex-wife Winona (Natalie Zea) and former friend Boyd Crowder (Emmy nominated Walton Goggins), as well as a multitude of small time criminals. Currently Raylan is battling the Bennett family, a major pot dealing family fronted by matriarch Mags (Margo Martindale) with help from her sons Dickie (Jeremy Davies), Coover (Brad William Henke), and Doyle (Joseph Lyle Taylor). Justified also stars Nick Searcy, Joelle Carter, Jacob Pitts, and Erica Tazel. What do you think about Justified's second season? Are you glad it got reviewed? 'Justified': Walton Goggins on Ava, Raylan and unraveling the mystery of Boyd Crowder

If you still haven't quite gotten a bead on the character of Boyd Crowder on "Justified," you have some company."It's still a mystery to me who he is. I'm figuring it out every single day," says the man who plays him, Walton Goggins. That's because, he says, Boyd is "continually changing.""From the pilot to episode 2 was a big swing and a completely different direction, and then from Season 1 to Season 2 is an even bigger swing," Goggins says. "If you look at the trajectory of Boyd Crowder, he was this Svengali, this showman in the pilot episode, and then this near-death experience and religious conversion, and the ambiguous nature of that conversion, only to be revealed at the end of Season 1 that he truly did believe -- in some ways that was his answer."So when you come into Season 2 having that foundation rocked to its core, I think what we found... //

Photos - Justifed 2.06 "Blaze of Glory"

Last week's episode of Justified left Boyd in a very sensitive position, and from the looks of these promo pics from next week's episode, "Blaze of Glory,"  Boyd is going to land in a very familiar hot-seat.  How will this play out for Justified 's anti-hero?  The sub-plot is interesting in that it has seen Boyd make more a of transcendence than a transgression. Boyd was tempted to return to his evil ways, but instead of going back to the ruthless criminal that he was he has become a new kind of criminal.  Will his descent continue towards the recesses of his dark past, or is this slip up a doorway into an odd form of legitimacy?  It seems like - given Boyd's position in the pics below - that he might be being recruited by the US Marshall's office. Interesting stuff. Read More... //

Larenz Tate Gets Justified

The charismatic actor first broke out as teenage gangsta O-Dog in the Hughes Brothers' 1993 inner-city saga. Since then, he's mostly played nice guys in movies like Love Jones and on TV series like FX's Rescue Me . The cable net's top-notch crime drama let Tate cross over to the wrong side of the law as a violent convict who flees a halfway house — and who happens to be the ex-brother-in-law of Deputy U.S. Marshal Rachel Brooks (Erica Tazel). She teams with Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) to track him down....  //
