What Can Actually Kill Luke Cage?

Of all the super people that make up Netflixs Marvel mini-verse, Luke Cage is easily the least vulnerable of all of them. Hes super strong, like Jessica Jones and Danny Rand, but his defining physical trait is his impenetrable skin. You cant shoot Luke Cage the bullets just bounce right off him. But Luke is certainly not unkillable. So as we head into the second season of Luke Cage, its worth looking again at how a bad guy might be able to take Luke out. We saw one particular vulnerability back in the first season of Jessica Jones, when Jessica was forced to blast Luke right in the face with a shotgun when he was mind controlled by Kilgrave. Though the shell bounced right off his skin, the whiplash caused his brain to slam against the inside of his skull (a major, major concussion), resulting in severe trauma that nearly killed him.  ...Read More... https://www.thewrap.com/what-can-actually-kill-luke-cage-season-2/

Luke Cage Season 2 Refresher: What Happened to Misty Knights Arm?

(Note: This post contains spoilers for Netflixs The Defenders.) One of Luke Cages chief allies, Detective Misty Knight, enters Season 2 of Luke Cage very different than how she left Season 1. At the start of Season 2, Misty is missing an arm but if you didnt watch The Defenders, you might have missed how it happened. Netflixs The Defenders takes place between Luke Cage seasons 1 and 2; after Daredevil Season 2 and Iron Fist Season 1, but before Jessica Jones Season 2. For a brief period, it finds most of New Yorks street-level superheroes (Luke, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist) teaming up to take down the operation of the evil ninja group known as the Hand.  ...Read More... https://www.thewrap.com/luke-cage-season-2-refresher-happened-misty-knights-arm/

Luke Cage villain Theo Rossi hints at a pansexual plot twist

Theo Rossi, 43, is used to playing the heavy; the Staten Island-born actor made his name portraying Juice on 85 episodes of Sons of Anarchy, and similarly badass dudes in indie films like Meth Head (2013), Lowriders (2016) and the upcoming Ghosts of War and Vault (with Samira Wiley). So it was natural for him...  ...Read More... https://nypost.com/2018/06/21/luke-cage-villain-theo-rossi-hints-at-a-pansexual-plot-twist/

Luke Cage Season 2: What Exactly Is The Incident?

One of the key elements linking together Marvels Netflix series Luke Cage to the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe is one key event that everyone knows about, but nobody talks about in detail. That event is known as The Incident, and it informs a ton of elements in the MCU. It popped up in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and has been mentioned repeatedly in Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Defenders. Everybody in the MCU knows about it and remembers it, and it serves as the beginning point for a lot of stories about Marvel characters its sort of the point that everyone realized superheroes were a real thing.   ...Read More... https://www.thewrap.com/defenders-exactly-incident/

Does Luke Cage Season 2 Take Place Before or After Avengers: Infinity War?

(Note: There are NO spoilers or plot details from Luke Cage season 2 discussed here, but we do describe the ending of Avengers: Infinity War below. So if you inexplicably clicked on this without having seen the movie and dont want to know what happened, please bow out now.) Were nearly two months removed from one of the most shocking endings of any major blockbuster that of Avengers: Infinity War, which saw Thanos succeed in collecting the Infinity Stones and wiping out half of all life in the universe. Since Earth is part of the universe, and Marvels Netflix shows are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it makes you wonder if, or how the new season of Luke Cage will deal with it.   ...Read More... https://www.thewrap.com/luke-cage-season-2-take-place-avengers-infinity-war/

The Most Important Shows on TV: Week of June 18, 2018

Which TV series will your friends (and the entire internet) be talking about this week? Stay informed — or at least be able to fake it — with SideReel's weekly guide to The Most Important Shows on TV.   Take Two (Series Premiere) Thursday at 8 pm on ABC Why: In Take Two , disgraced former TV detective Sam Swift (Rachel Bilson) teams up with private investigator Eddie Valetik (Eddie Cibrian) to research a future role. As always happens on these sorts of shows, they have a love/hate relationship, and Swift ends up proving herself to be useful. Does that spoil anything? No. Do you think that sounds a little bit like Castle ? Of course it does! Take Two is created by two Castle showrunners, Andrew Marlowe and Terri Edda Miller. ABC is probably still kicking themselves for unceremoniously ending the wildly successful Castle (seriously, they really botched things with star Stana Katic), so since they can't have Castle , they've cloned it. Take Two ! I've long been a fan of Rachel Bilson (and I will say with no embarrassment that I loved Hart of Dixie and everyone should watch it) and though I associate Eddie Cibrian mostly with Real Housewives drama , he certainly has a long-running career of his own (and is undeniably handsome). The show seems like a solid summer bet, although its longer term success will hinge on the chemistry of the leads: we only want to watch the same thing over and over again if we really love the two of them together. Prepare to talk about: If you're ready to forgive ABC for that Castle debacle; what we think about Bilson and Cibrian's onscreen chemistry; how many shows use some version of this formula.   Marvel's Luke Cage (Season Premiere) Friday at 3 am on Netflix Why: Luke Cage was definitely one of the better received Marvel shows on Netflix, so fans have been eagerly awaiting its second season. Can it avoid the sophomore slump that so many of its Netflix Marvel cousins could not? As to what we can expect in this second season, Luke Cage is now a beloved local celebrity in Harlem instead of a fugitive. There will be both old and new villains, with Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard) returning, as well as Hernan "Shades" Alvarez (Theo Rossi), who has now joined forces with Mariah. Additionally, Mustafa Shakir joins the cast as major new villain Bushmaster, also serving as a rival to Mariah and her family. Outside of villains, breakout character Misty Knight (Simone Messick) also returns, with a sweet new cybernetic arm (she lost her hand in The Defenders )! This brings her more in line with her comic-book counterpart, and also allows for a lot of cool fight scenes, as a cybernetic arm = super strength. We also like seeing another powerful woman in the universe. Prepare to talk about: Did anyone else see Mike Colter on The Good Fight this season (yes, watch it); where this series falls on the MCU timeline; which other Marvel characters pop in.   Westworld (Season Finale) Sunday at 9 pm on HBO Why: Wow, ten weeks have certainly flown by. Season 2 has been a bit more polarizing than Season 1; everyone has not loved it, and a lot of that has come from how very confusing it has been. So, we can only hope that this finale will continue to answer many of our unanswered questions. Will any humans turn out to be hosts (mainly William, which is a popular fan theory and seems to have been hinted at)? Which hosts are still obeying Ford's orders? What is Dolores' plan for the Valley Beyond - now known to be called the Forge? What exactly is the Maze? Is Maeve in trouble (the penultimate episode suggested this but this cannot be the case because she is my favorite). And the questions go on and on. If you like fan theories, or want to validate your own, we highly recommend diving into Reddit , where you can spend days reading everyone's thoughts on the answers to all of these questions and more. The finale certainly won't answer all lingering questions (and will undoubtedly raise 1000 more), but we certainly hope it can end with enough resolution that we aren't left tearing our hair out in confusion while we wait (hopefully not 2 years) for the next season. Prepare to talk about: If you enjoyed Season 2 as much as Season 1; how long we'll have to wait for Season 3; how confused we are.   Rachel is the product manager of SideReel, and she's dead serious when she tells you that you should watch Hart of Dixie . div.post p { text-align: justify; }

Will Mariah Be the Real Big Bad of Marvel's Luke Cage Season 2?

Everyone loves to hate a good bad guy, but in the case of Marvel's Luke Cage , the most delicious villain is actually a bad woman . Mariah Dillard ( Alfre Woodard ) emerged as one of Luke's ( Mike Colter ) top adversaries in Season 1 and will return to make him rue the day he ever returned to Harlem in  ...Read More...   http://www.tvguide.com/news/luke-cage-season-2-cheo-hodari-coker-mariah-preview/?rss=breakingnews
