The theme of the Invention Test was revealed to be Spanish cuisine, with George unveiling three pairs of core ingredients: lamb and anchovies; sherry and oranges; squid and chorizo. The contestants then filled their baskets with accompanying ingredients. In a soul-destroying twist, the judges then surprised them by switching the baskets round, leaving many with ingredients far outside their comfort zone. The results largely underwhelmed the judges, but it was Ellie, Dani and Jay's dishes that received particular scorn, landing them in an Elimination cook-off.
