The CW Sinks Its Teeth Into Moonlight

Alex O'Loughlin fans got a bloody good summer treat when the CW acquired all 16 episodes of Moonlight, the Aussie actor's short-lived but beloved vampire detective show. "We get letters and e-mails about Moonlight all the time," says CW entertainment chief Dawn Ostroff. "And so we thought it would be interesting if we aired it following The Vampire Diaries." Moonlight (Thursdays at 9/8c, The CW) follows the perpetually 30-year-old private investigator Mick St. John (O'Loughlin), his hedonistic buddy Josef (Jason Dohring) and Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), a young reporter whose chemistry with Mick threatens her relationship with her human fiancé. Around to cause trouble: the seductive Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon), who turned Mick on their wedding night six decades earlier. To Read More Click Here .

The CW's Promo of 'Moonlight' Repeats

Beginning June 3, The CW will bring back CBS' canceled series "Moonlight" to life. In order to fill the vacant slot left by "The Vampire Diaries" which is making a transition to season 2, "Moonlight" will be aired every Thursdays at 9/8c. The network's version of promo has been released under the slogan "It's a summer crush that doesn't suck". The vampire-themed series is starring Alex O'Loughlin who will soon be seen as the lead star of CBS' "Hawaii Five-O". Beside attempting to re-popularize O'Loughlin, the repeat is done in the middle of "Vampire Diaries" and "Twilight" fever. The series follows Mick St. John, a private investigator who has been a vampire for over fifty years. Mick meets Beth Turner, a reporter for the online newspaper BuzzWire, at the scene of the murder of a young woman. Mick and Beth begin investigating the crime together, helping each other to catch the killer. Source & Promo

CW Resurrects Moonlight!

The CW is going to have a vampire night. On Thursdays this summer, the network will air the canceled CBS series Moonlight , starring Alex O'Loughlin as vampire detective Mick St. John, following repeats of Vampire Diaries. Moonlight was canceled after its first season because of poor ratings. The CW passed on picking up the series to try a Sunday night lineup - including Valentine and Easy Money - that eventually failed. Moonlight will debut on the CW on June 3 at 9/8c. Source Here

Is the Third Time a Charm for Alex O'Loughlin and CBS? - Featured

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. That's the motto CBS is employing in its continued quest to make Alex O'Loughlin the next big TV star. First he had Moonlight , but sadly that show came a season too early to catch the current wave of vampire love. Then came Three Rivers , which you've probably already forgotten about. Now CBS is going for a third show starring O'Loughlin, casting him as the lead in the network's new Hawaii 5-0 remake. Will the third time be the charm for Alex O'Loughlin, or is he doomed to star in single-season shows from now until the end of time? There are valid points to be made on both sides. 'Vampire Diaries' Popularity Won't Bring Back 'Moonlight'

The Vampire Diaries wasn't initially welcomed by critics who deduced the show as yet another lame vampire series that takes the premise of its predecessors. But surprisingly, the first 10 episodes of the CW series didn't suck. In fact, The Vampire Diaries is now one of the latest fan sensations sweeping through pop culture, earning record breaking ratings for the network. This just proves that the vampire genre hasn't been saturated, even with Twilight and True Blood around. Does this mean there's still room for CBS' Moonlight? Sorry to disappoint Moonlight fans but has already looked into the possible scenario and the results are not good. To Read More Click Here .

Alex O'Loughlin: Moonlight's Mick "Has Been Laid to Rest"

Sorry, Moonlight fans: Mick St. John will not be resurrected. Despite valiant efforts from die-hard fans to bring the beloved but short-lived series back to life on the small or big screen, Alex O'Loughlin says that story is over. "That's a [executive producer] Joel Silver question, but as far as I know, no. It's done. It's over. Mick St. John has been laid to rest," he tells That doesn't mean the show's cancellation was painless, especially since Moonlight was "doing well" ratings-wise. "It's a bit of a sad situation, a sad story for me. Of course, I love that show. I put everything into it. But what are you going to do?" he says. "That's what we do as actors. We put 100 percent into things from the screen test on. It's the most bizarre job in the world: You put 150 percent into it and then you walk away." The Aussie hunk hasn't walked away from TV or CBS, as his new medical drama, Three Rivers , premieres Sunday at 9/8c. O'Loughlin plays Dr. Andy Yablonski, a preeminent transplant surgeon, on the series, and he hopes his Moonlight fans will hop onboard even without any vampire appearances. "I'm not exactly sure if that crosses their genre of work!" he says. Source Here
